I love the venue for the wedding today! The Condor’s Nest Ranch is the perfect mix of rustic outdoor gorgeousness with a greenhouse, barn and even a vintage trailer on the grounds! It was the perfect spot for Nicole + Dan also! From Nicole, “We wanted a beautiful, relaxed setting for our wedding day, which is exactly what we got at The Condor’s Nest Ranch. In fact, the Condor’s Nest Ranch is the only venue that we visited! Dan and I are pretty casual people, but at the same time I wanted everything to feel very soft and elegant. Achieving that balance through our venue, food and decor really speaks to who we are.
The natural beauty of the ranch, the soft color palette refined by Carter and Cook, a casual BBQ meal, mismatched heirloom china (Condor’s Nest Ranch provides this in their wedding package!), and the gorgeous flowers put together by Lynne Lucente brought the picture in my head to life!” Thanks so much to Katie Neal for the gorgeous photos!
Love this color palette with the pretty dahlias! The bridesmaids dresses are by Vera Wang and the wedding gown is from David’s Bridal.
What song did you walk down the aisle to? Sweet Pea by Amos Lee
Most memorable moment of your wedding day? For me, the excitement and overwhelming sense of calm that I felt just before walking down the aisle stands out as one of the most memorable moments. I’m not one that enjoys all eyes on me, and I expected to be super nervous! But, when the moment came everything clicked and felt right. When I asked my husband the same question, he said “everything.” For him, in looking back it feels like one, big, amazing memory. I can’t say I disagree with him there! So much happens in a single day, so to pinpoint one memory is difficult.
Any advice for those planning now? Don’t be afraid to ask for help! When I set out to plan our wedding, I was a hands-on wannabe DIY bride. But, the day came when I looked around my home office and was buried in a mishmash of fabric samples, cheap vases, favors, and a myriad of impulsive Internet purchases. At that point I knew I needed help. Thanks to Katie Neal’s fabulous recommendation, I engaged Carter & Cook just 8 weeks before the big day to assist with design and decor. They took care of everything and had ideas that I fell in love with immediately…ideas I didn’t have the skill or time to carry out on my own! So, I’d say don’t be afraid to entrust your vision with someone else. That was probably the best decision that I made during the planning process, despite my grand plan to do it all. Our day was that much more special and beautiful because of it.
And be yourself! You’re never going to please everyone – and believe me, not every member of my family was thrilled to attend an outdoor, evening, ranch wedding. Because, let’s face it. Some folks are just more comfortable in a hotel ballroom. But, at the end of the day, we were true to ourselves and can look back without any regrets. The last thing you want to do is reflect on your wedding day a year down the road (once the emotional and logistical chaos has settled…and trust me, it will) and wish you’d done things differently.
