Today’s wedding is so pretty – the ceremony is outdoors in the woods and has a great rustic feel to it. Katie + Nick (a talented photographer also) found a lot of inspirations from weddings Nick photographed. Whenever Nick photographed something he liked, he kept in in the back of his mind for their big day. When it came time to plan their wedding, Katie + Nick had a pretty good idea of the atmosphere they wanted to create. They both loved the green, woodsy, earthy feel of the venue and most of the decor was designed around the towering oak trees + wildlife of the Oak Canyon Nature Center. Hire a wedding planner. No, hire OUR wedding planner. Nancy was unbelievable. Delegate. Delegate. Delegate. You can’t do it all. Find trustworthy people and put them in charge of things. As stressful as it is, slow down, step back, and treasure every moment. It goes by too fast.

Thank you SO much for featuring Nick and Katie’s beautiful wedding. They had a fabulous team of vendors and an amazing love that was bound to make for a beautiful day! I have to give a shout out to Jane from Olive Hue Paper Goods who helped me design and install the gorgeous poms you see at the ceremony altar and on the garlands. We hand tea-stained 2000 coffee filters and assembly took a good two weeks. :)

This is one of my favourite weddings I’ve seen for a while, and I stalk GWS nearly every day! I can see the love and the creative ideas strung in everywhere, in a way that is CHEAP and effective at the same time!! The bridesmaids are gorgeous with their grey and brown boots. Hot look. The ceremony decorations are incredible… lot of work there! How perfect is the old door? I wish I had that! I confess the cupcakes and cake pops are also turning my head a little ;)

Ps Everyone, The dance floor was made the night before out a few 2x4s, a few sheets of chip board, and 2 gallons of polyurethane, for about 200 bucks. ( cheaper than renting ) :)
