When Naaz of Olive + Wheat Designs first sent this gorgeous styled editorial our way, one line in her submission stood out to us: A wedding day shouldn’t be the only time you get to celebrate your love! We totally, totally agree with that statement, and it’s one of the reasons why we love this anniversary party inspiration so much!
Naaz tells us, In bowling, your starting point is a reliable and effective body stance. In marriage, a 1 year anniversary celebration is like the bowler’s stance before beginning the approach. It is just as special, picture worthy, and unique. I came up with the vision for the shoot that included a touch of modern boho, a little bit of industrial glam and some tropical elements. We wanted to capture the couple’s unique characteristics so that the party could truly reflect them. The two of them love a good ol’ cup of aged Macallan and a game of bowl, so we knew we had to incorporate this into our shoot.
Let’s see how it comes together in the photos below by Lillywhite Photography!
How gorgeous is this textural arrangement by Madmade Designs? Your anniversary party is the perfect excuse to work with your wedding floral designer again and maybe try out arrangements that are different than those you had on your wedding day and feature a few blooms you’ve recently been obsessing over!
Marble cakes are always a good idea + we’re loving this beauty by JennyWennyCakes!
If it rains the day of your anniversary party, don’t let that ruin the fun! Throw on a cute pair of rain boots and enjoy the festivities you’ve planned – like lawn games + row boat rides!

Planning your anniversary party menu would be one of the best parts! We love this snack + drink set-up by The Cheese Store of San Diego + BuildYourOwnBar – both so effortless-seeming + stylish!
We love, love, love this pretty tablescape!

Love this! Our wedding ended up being quite a bit bigger than we originally imagined so we thought we’d love to spend some time for our first anniversary and create some memories just for the two of us to share. We’ve decided to renew our vows in a landscape location that reminds us of the special time we spent on our honeymoon, (winter wonderland mountains and lakes)! complete with sweetheart tablescape and picnic style arrangements in marsala, navy, rose gold and blush. My husband will wear his Navy wedding suit and I’m going to surprise him in a flowing full length marsala tulle skirt and casual light gold/blush sweater. We can’t wait to spend the day together and see the day always through photos. We are planning an anniversary party with friends and family also, though our vow renewal and shoot will be just for us.
Stunning! I love the table settings, looks so classic. Fab colour scheme too!
