Purple + Blush Pasadena Wedding: Tabitha + Loren

Romantic Pasadena Wedding

While blush has ruled the wedding world for years now, purple is definitely an under-used hue, so we’ve gotta give props to today’s duo, Tabitha + Loren, for turning that around + incorporating lots of it into their stylish Pasadena wedding! They teamed up with planner, Esther Kim, to design a day filled with purple + blush details that perfectly reflected their personal styles + fun senses of humor. And all that beauty was captured for us by onelove photography to share with you here today!

As Tabitha tells it, We wanted to focus on “statement” pieces. The architecture at The Athenaeum is so unique and beautiful, we really just wanted to enhance it. Our biggest “statement” was definitely the double doors. When we were searching for rental pieces, these vertical free-standing double doors stood out to us. As soon as we saw them, we did a quick brainstorm and decided that rather than printing our programs and menus, we would use the doors as an ‘entrance’ to our venue and write our program and menu directly on the glass. It definitely caught everyone’s eyes!

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

Tabitha: Getting ready with my moms and bridesmaids, it was like an adult dress up party. I felt so blessed being able to wear the same jewelry and shoes that my mother wore when she married my father. Seeing Loren's jaw drop when he finally saw all of the ideas I have been blabbing about for the past year come together.

Loren: I will never forget our first look for the rest of my life. Seeing Tabitha in her wedding dress for the first time took my breath away, and in that moment all of the emotions, memories, and experiences over the last 5 years came rushing in. I knew that moment was special.

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

Tabitha: Break down the planning process into pieces, set daily/weekly/monthly goals (whatever works for you). This will be easier on your sanity and your wallets. Don't try to surf the internet too often, once you have your main vision, stick to it. There will always going to be another idea, you'll end up feeling conflicted for no reason. Trust your initial instincts. Planners are highly recommended, especially the last 3 months leading up to the Big Day!

Loren: When you're asked for your opinion, give it! Don't ever, ever, ever say that you don't care or that it doesn't matter. If your opinion differs from your bride's, backpedal really quickly and make sure you tell her how good her ideas are. But seriously, just enjoy the whole process. No matter how stressful the planning process is, on the actual day, all of it will be worth it. Don't forget to have fun, because it WILL be one of the happiest days of your life!
