Pronovias never ceases to AMAZE us with all their creativity and ingenuity when it comes to wedding dresses…and this year’s runway show, serving as the finale for the Valmont Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week was nothing short of incredible. Showcasing the 2020 Atelier Pronovias Collection at the Italian Pavilion in Barcelona (Fira Montjuïc), “Beyond The Stars” was just that: beyond.
The collection was inspired by Hervé Moreau’s childhood in Nice, France (Pronovias’ artistic director), and his first contact with art at the Marc Chagall Museum. Taking cues from fantasy, love, and joy, Moreau channeled Chagall’s paintings of beautiful silhouettes dancing through in dreamy landscapes, surrounded by flora and fauna, and of course, shining stars. Here at GWS, we’re completely on board with the celestial theme as we’ve definitely seen a number of editorials and styles inspired by the night sky.
Let’s take a peek at what creations the team at Pronovias dreamt up for the coming year! Oh, and before we forget…can you guess who was spotted in the audience? Lucy Hale, Brittany Snow, and Aimee Song, amongst other international actresses, models, and influencers!
Silky Silhouettes
Silky silhouettes like these are timeless and perfect for the modern bride.
Structure on Structure
While playing with the light + ethereal quality of gowns, Pronovias also channeled more structure for their designs, crafting gowns and suits with impeccable cuts.
A suit + a cape? YES!!
This year saw the introduction of a variety of new materials, such as Crepé Couture, embroidered tulle, and handmade French lace.
This collection was all about creating the perfect fit—allowing the bride to exude confidence and be comfortable.
Luxe Beading
For those wanting to go a little bit glam, delicate beading was employed, adding a serious touch of luxe and sparkle.
Here you can see some of the shimmer moon + star designs! So much fun, right?
This dress was MADE for the gal who wants to dance all night long + is the life of the party!
So sophisticated and so glam!
Light + Airy
Isn’t this the definition of graceful elegance?
The lace and soft overlay here is such a stunning combination!!
True works of art, don’t you think?
Each dress was designed to be light and airy—allowing the bride to move gracefully and elegantly, just as the ladies in Marc Chagall’s masterpieces did.
After the show, Lucy Hale commented: I’m excited to be here with Pronovias, it’s my first time in Barcelona. Their dresses are so glamorous and they have a wide range of styles for all types of women.
And that’s something we love: different styles for unique personalities and ones to flatter each + every body. Way to go, Pronovias!
