When Morgan + Dave began to plan their wedding, the location became the most important thing — as it was going to set the tone for the whole weekend. Their relationship has been nothing shy of a grand adventure, so they knew we needed a location to match – and Yosemite quickly became the clear winner. Morgan spills: We knew we wanted to create a weekend full of activities with our guests and a place where our guests could fully immerse themselves in the weekend of adventure! We loved kicking off the activities on Wednesday hiking with friends and getting in the mental mindset for the wedding.
As the wedding day schedule was packed, M+D made time on Thursday night before their wedding for one awe-inspiring pre-wedding photoshoot. The location: Taft Point — just a 45-minute drive and 30-minute hike from the location of the wedding.
Prepare to fall in love with these gorgeous photos captured by Danielle Poff Photography!
Michelle Lywood crafted the most beautiful bouquet that felt simultaneous organic and luxurious… We’re digging the way it reflects the colors of the sunset!
Morgan is a wedding planner + designer (Spreading Lovely) so she knows better than anyone else the importance of timing and scheduling on the wedding day… Thus the choice for doing the shoot two days before!
As for Morgan’s darling dress? It’s from Anthropologie!
That gorgeous light + that view… My goodness!!
Trust your gut: Nine times out of ten, your original thought is going to be what you come back to! Don’t distract yourself with looking at too many options or second guessing yourself – stick to your vision and once you make a decision, keep moving forward!
I might be a bit biased on this one, but, hire a planner or a coordinator!! Being a planner myself, I knew there was no way I could get through the day without someone I trusted. Jenny of ETC Events re-instilled in me the importance of having someone you trust be your advocate on your wedding day. We went through ups and downs of not knowing if it was going to be pouring rain just a few hours before our ceremony and knowing Jenny was on our side put us at so much ease. We knew everything would be set up perfectly and that the day would run smoothly, so we truly could focus on being present in each and every moment and that truly was priceless.
Wasn’t that EPIC?!
Just wait until you see their wedding day — which we’re sharing in just a few hours… :)
P.S. Don’t miss out on the spectacular views that Adam of Danielle Poff Photography captured in this video!
