Have You Heard of this Pop-Up Wedding Chapel?? 20 Couples Wed in Two Days!

Pop Up Wedding Chapel

We’re sure you’re familiar with pop-up bakeries and pop-up boutiques, but have you heard of the latest craze- the Pop-Up Wedding Chapel?? The Pop-Up Chapel Co. hosted an unbelievable two day event at Evergreen Brick Works. We’re here to tell you, it’s everything you can imagine and more! With a sunrise and sunset-themed setup, a hand-painted sky backdrop, colorful floral clouds, cocktails, music and food for all, it’s the ultimate experience for those looking to elope, have an intimate event, or just those couples that want a stand-out, non-traditional wedding! Edom Taye shares more about the experience:

For our biggest chapel to date, we wed 20 couples at Evergreen Brick Works in a beautiful sky themed Pop-Up Chapel with two looks; a blue sky for day one and a coral-hued sunset for day two. The Pop-Up Chapel Co. donates $300 from the sale of every chapel spot sold to local charities. For this Chapel in particular, we donated $6,000 to Fetch and Releash. Some of our couples brought in their pets during their portrait sessions which we thought was so cute!

As you can imagine, it takes a village to pull off this wedding extravaganza. The photos below are a collection of shots by talented photographers: Alicia Thurston Photography, Wade Muir, Rachael Reid Weddings, Rachel Hunt Photography, and Rita Kravchuck.

Are you ready to see not one, not two, but 20 couples wed?? Let’s go!

The Pop-Up Wedding Vision

Pop Up Wedding Chapel

Are you curious how this whole Pop-Up Wedding thing works?

At The Pop-Up Chapel Co., we marry one couple on the hour every hour for 10 hours straight. Our couples pay a flat rate that includes everything they need- ceremony venue and decor, legal officiant, florals, live music, a toast for up to 20 guests and more.

Let’s just talk about this backdrop! The Pop-Up Chapel Co. hand-painted the sky arches, Epiq Vision installed the lighting, Divine Furniture Rentals provided the chairs, Wild and Free Marquee brought in the marquee letters, and Kenilworth Floral designed that rad hanging installation of babies breath and hydrangea. Also, The day couldn’t have come together without the event service of Leave it TO Us.

Eat, Drink and Marry

Charitable and Sustainable

Pop Up Wedding Chapel

Perhaps the coolest aspect of The Pop-Up Chapel Co. is their commitment to charity and sustainability:

To date, we’ve married over 100 couples and raised over $36k for charities across North America. Not only is the chapel affordable (usually starting at $2699), but we are sustainable (10 couples shared the waste that is less than one couple would traditionally create at a wedding) and inclusive, marrying couples across all genders, religions, races, sexual identities and more.

Pop Up Wedding Chapel

The Pop-Up Chapel Co. runs chapels in Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver, Winnipeg and they have plans to expand to more cities including NYC and Chicago.

Seriously in love with this entire concept and all of these sweet couples who rocked the Pop-Up Wedding Day idea! If you’re aching for more, you’ve got to check out this sweet video by Sean Sutherland that captures the day and details in action!
