You may remember today’s venue from this ‘Helicopter Elopement on a Secluded Island’. Hangar 21 in Fullerton served as the epic location for the celebration following the elopement, and today we’re seriously stoked to take you back!! The clever idea to highlight the helicopter hangar as an event space that offers a mix of adventure and industrial design for weddings and events — One Heli of a Time — was thought up by the genius team of creatives: Candace of Candace Jolee Events and Samantha of Hangar 21 Venue.
For the grand opening, Candace + Samantha brought in vendors who could blend with the eclectic nature of the venue. Taking advantage of the ample space in the new site, they created several different pads to hang out in; there was a luxe lounge for the ladies, and a separate, more masculine one, for the dudes. But that’s not all… The space is well, spacious, so a whole 2nd hangar was added, this one decorated as a magical + ethereal ceremony site!
Let’s head out to Fullerton, California to see the new space in all its glory, captured by Alexandria Monette Photography!
Alexandria, the photographer, shares Never was there a dull moment with our entertainment, Vox DJs, who brought everyone to the dance floor all night long! Meanwhile, Hangar 21 Venue gave out complimentary helicopter tours to all the guests. We heard a few of them even had the opportunity to watch the Disneyland fireworks from above!
In case you love all things modern + slightly rustic, center stage was a long farm table, aptly named “One Heli of a Time.” To complete the spread, an abundance of brightly colored cakes designed by Elise Cakes, pink calligraphy acrylic chargers + custom menus designed by Double Dipped Calligraphy, decorated the table. Each piece accentuated the place settings provided by Classic Party Rentals. That gorgeous 10-foot installation with dripping florals was put together by Sweet Stems Florist and the entire table was dreamt up by Candace Jolee Events.
All the metallic accents + that miniature cake by Elise Cakes!! Too cute!

“One Heli of a Tropic Girly Time,” brought together by SunDrop Vintage Rentals, which was inspired by those with a huge heart for bold colors, eclectic design and a love for tropical plants. Green Effect was the lovely supplier of all that lush foliage.
Delicious macarons + a tropical cake awaited those who visited, and the whole set-up was decked out in vibrant florals by the talented Penelope Pots Floral Design.
“But first, photos…” Of course!! The Booth and Bus Co. + Pixster Photo Booth provided all of the candid + funky photo needs (in major style, might we add).
Sandra Michelle Artistry got her braid on by giving all the ladies cute hairstyles, over at the Braid It Up Bar. Love Anne Joy + Happily Ever Etched teamed up to design the tropical selfie station, which was a huge hit.
“Put up you dukes” was a play on words for the design + rental company, Jake Duke Studios. Their manly, organic, and textured filled vignette was decked out in a mix of leather, wood, and faux fur. Pretty cool, right?

Okay, this is a seriously cool way to display the vendors! OR, this could serve as an escort card board. Wouldn’t that be amazing?!
A custom built “Dudes and Donuts” display was created and Elise Cakes crafted those delicious treats, all of which was paired with craft beers… And there were cookies molded into shot glasses that were filled with flavored milk by The Dirty Cookie (SO YUM!).
What goes best with tropical design? A tropical inspired fruit station, tastefully put together by 24 Carrots Catering and handcrafted signature drinks brought together by the team at Hangar 21 Venue.
For the foodie enthusiasts, Jay’s Catering brought their A game when it came to their handcrafted tacos.
With metal industrial chairs provided by Classic Party Rentals, a circular pampas grass backdrop made by Rogue and Fox Floral Co., and an entire wall covered in industrial, vintage light strings, provided by Lights for Nights — this space turned into pure, twinkling magic.
Such a rad space, right?! If you’re looking for a venue in Southern California, Hangar 21 is now open for all sorts of events… :)
