Nothing gets us excited like the words Palm Springs and Old Hollywood wedding! How could it NOT be a dreamy day, right? Sheena and Matt married at Colony 29 and came to the table with a totally defined vision: Old Hollywood-meets-neon-nights! The bride wore a custom wedding dress and lent her own design talents to several details throughout the day:
I had a million ideas from the beginning that Aubrey from Details, Darling and Angelena from Shindig Chic were so patient to work with me on. I knew I wanted the night to feel glamorous but still fun and a bit irreverent. Coming from a design background, I also knew I wanted to design as many components from the wedding as possible and luckily, was able to partner creatively with such talented teams to make it into reality! From the signage to the paper goods to the wedding koozies to the neon sign…it was a true labor of love that all turned out perfectly!
We’ve got a look at all those dreamy details with photos by Logan Cole Photography! Old Hollywood, here we come:
Loving this fun invitation suite designed by the bride!
Bespoke Bridal Style
Is she not a vision?!
The bridesmaids looked totally glam in different styles + textures and shades of pink and rust.

How about that dress?!
I knew I wanted something custom with lots of texture and detail, and that had the right balance of tradition and interesting elements. My good friend, Sarah Varca, happens to be an incredible bespoke bridal designer with an atelier in Chicago (Varca Bridal) so we partnered together to create the final dress. She ended up creating the most stunning dress I couldn’t have even dreamt of in the beginning: layers of lace and pearls, leather trim, and a deep V to end all deep Vs.
The first look at her…and that DRESS!
Old Hollywood Ceremony in the Desert
Sheeny designed all of the custom iridescent wedding signage!
Doesn’t Colony 29 have the BEST views?
The custom diamond-shaped black + white backdrop by Shindig Chic brought in that eccentric pop that Sheena was looking for.
(PS: Here’s another geometric wedding backdrop we love!)
Lovers’ Getaway
S + M had THE cutest getaway car in a red vintage Mercedes!
Goodness, they are CUTE.
The Retro-Modern Wedding Reception
Such a fun bar!
Sheena designed these rad “Flow Easy With Sheezy” + “Let’s Get Silly With Tilley” custom koozies for guests to use and take home.
A favorite design element from the day by Details, Darling and Shindig Chic? The three-dimensional seating chart: layered panels of acrylic with iridescent writing, funky gold mirrors + hanging velvets.
Long wood tables with mismatched gold + black bentwood chairs from Adore Folklore, mauve velvet runners, black + gold mid-century glassware, hanging lanterns and an explosion of tropical plants lining the dining tables set the mood for a perfect party.
Florals + neon — just the best combo ever.
In the last two weeks before the wedding, I felt like I was hemorrhaging money. After a while, I just told myself to lean into it and honestly, I don’t regret any of it!!
Loving these two! All our congrats to S + M! And don’t miss another look at the happy Old Hollywood wedding day from Happy Camper Films:

These are sooo amazing! I love the energy in all of the pics!
That diamond-shaped arbor is so neat. The wedding florals dripping to the side is very modern. We have seen some North Carolina brides adding these cool arbor shapes to their wedding. I hope this trend is here to stay. It’s nice to see something unique at every wedding vs the same ole traditional backdrop.
