Succulent lovers, get ready for this one, because Lauren + Sean’s stunning Rancho Sol Del Pacifico (a gorge estate in Malibu) celebration is probably your dream wedding environment. Thanks to the crazy talent of Carissa at JL Designs, we feel safe saying we’ve never seen a wedding with such beautiful succulent-rich bouquets and arrangements. And after hearing that while Lauren + Sean have very different personal and design styles, they share a love for natural elements + cacti details, it seemed all the more fitting that their wedding be brimming with these wild, arid plants. By incorporating both nature-inspired elements as well as lots of additional personal touches – like the groomsmen in Vans, a fun foodie menu, and the non-traditional ceremony music + readings – these two were really able to make their wedding feel like their own!
A big thanks goes out to Aaron Young for the lovely photography + to Constance Curtis for planning such an inspiring affair! And, of course, congratulations to Lauren + Sean on an absolutely beautiful day!
Wasn’t that the best first look? So genuine + sweet.
Lauren’s bridesmaids carried the prettiest bouquets featuring a mix of succulents, peonies, and ranunculus!
Processional: Thank You – Led Zeppelin
Recessional: Today is the Greatest – Smashing Pumpkins
First Dance: I Was Made for Loving You – Kiss
There were so many amazing little moments but perhaps the best was the ceremony. We were both so happy and waiting for the moment when we got to kiss was surprisingly difficult – over and over again we would lean in and then stop ourselves and then laugh.
From Lauren, For us, the food mattered a lot. We were so happy to find Contemporary Catering because after an explanation of what we were looking for, they just got it — a nose-to-tail pork menu that everyone could enjoy. Serving it family-style made the meal feel more intimate and the late-night churros were a huge hit!
So much love for this cinderblock + succulent styled dessert table! And the yummy-looking treats are from Manhattan Beach Creamery, in case you were wondering! :)
The single most helpful thing in planning was having a wedding planner. Constance was able to help me get everything done early which gave me the chance to just relax and enjoy the wedding weekend with my friends and family. Plus, having an expert to provide advice made all of the decision making much easier.
