This Groom’s Custom Floral Jacket Paired Perfectly With The Couple’s Moody-Inspired Decor and Color Palette

Romantic River House Wedding

Hello modern romance! Jewel and Ameer’s micro-wedding in New Hope, Pennsylvania is proof that smaller celebrations can have macro style. Their intimate day not only included a scaled-back guest count, but a must-see moody wedding color palette (filled with rich jewel tones and cooper accents), and also oh-so stylish attire. Ameer’s custom floral suit as well as Jewel’s swoon-worthy Hayley Paige layered tulle and satin ballgown enhanced their moody-inspired wedding by serving as inspo for their ceremony decor and reception details. Jewel says she actually had Ameer’s floral suit jacket in mind when she started choosing their wedding hues and putting together the design board for their special day. She also notes that since her name is Jewel, “Jewel tones were a must!” We can’t agree anymore, girlfriend!

“The wedding was about the two of us for those reasons,” says Jewel. Adding, “his custom suit and my Jewel tones were the focal point of the decor and made everything feel intimate and intentional.”Avonné Stalling of Avonné Photography captured the moody wedding day, which took place at the scenic and luxe River House at Odettes. Check out the rest of the details below!

Miss Hayley Paige

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

The first look. We both had so much anticipation and stress from COVID wedding planning pivots leading up to that moment and when we finally saw each other it was like, "all roads lead to you." Nothing else mattered. He had a surprise for me with the lining of his suit, which had "Found a Jewel" embroidered (a nod to our hashtag) and elephants (a nod to my sorority). He loved my dress, which every bride hopes for. It was just a feeling of bliss.

Since the couple had a smaller guest count, they could get creative with their ceremony seating. So, in lieu of traditional individual seating, they opted for velvet upholstered couches and love seats, instead!

Fur throws were also available for guests to use to keep warm during the outdoor ceremony.

The ceremony arch featured a cool geometric shape and was dressed up with fresh greenery paired with purple jewel-hued florals, such as anemones, garden roses, and anthuriums.

The wedding party looked equally fabulous in velvet attire. Jewel’s ‘maids donned burgundy-colored gowns in the luxe fabric where Ameer’s groomsmen sported navy suits in velvet.

Miss Hayley Paige

Jewel’s Hayley Paige ballgown was exactly what she had envisioned. “I knew I wanted either a ball gown or an A-line dress, but I didn’t want white,” says Jewel. Adding, “When I was looking on Pinterest I fell in love with a lot of Hayley Paige dresses […] I knew I wanted to go to Kleinfeld, but due to COVID, it was hard to get an appointment so I went to the sample sale. I tried on some beautiful dresses and ultimately fell in love with a satin cream-colored ball gown from Hayley Paige with a matching cathedral veil.” Jewel says she completed her look with velvet teal Louboutins and gold jewelry.

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

Take the time to choose vendors who are kindred spirits with you as a couple. My wedding planner is a superwoman and all of the vendors were magic. All of our vendors, from the photographer/videographer team to the valet at the venue, felt like family and surrounded us with so much love on the day of the wedding. Even now, months after the wedding, I have maintained relationships with our vendors. Besides your guests/bridal party, the vendors are going to be with you the most and have a high impact on the day - choose wisely. Also, consider giving your florist, baker, and design team creative freedom and watch them blow you away!
