It isn’t hard to feel the love infused into every single detail of today’s utterly romantic Ojai wedding. And that’s thanks in part to the fact that the bride, Elise, has quite a few talented friends who were more than happy to lend a hand! Elise + Jack’s gorgeous day stands out with some jaw-dropping floral designs that pop beautifully against the bridesmaids in black. It’s boho meets moody meets modern, and we’re totally here for it! Elise gave us a bit of insight into the day’s design + color inspiration:
A large part of our inspiration came from Ojai. We’d spent time together there with family and fell in love with the small desert town. We went for a mostly neutral color palette: tans, blushes, mauve, and peach, with some edgy touches of dark blue and black. It was hard to describe the color palette, so essentially we ended up saying “a desert at sunset.”
Studio Castillero captured the photos of the day, a dreamy album full of love and the prettiest details. Let’s have a look!
One of Elise’s best friends is the talented designer behind Carleigh Corey Design, and she created this romantic invitation suite for the day.
Bridesmaids in Black
The gals put a classic black twist on Show Me Your Mumu‘s boho bridesmaid collection!

The Dress
Oooo SO gorgeous!! Elise wore a long-sleeved lace gown by Dreamers & Lovers!
LOVE a wedding party in all black!
Elise used to work alongside Rachael at Siren Floral Co, and was, in fact, one of the first Siren team members! Racheal recalls Elise chatting about Jack over flowers when they first met, before she eventually followed him to Colorado and began her own journey as a florist. Love that! Essentially, bringing on Siren to help design the day was a no-brainer:
Rachael’s been my friend and mentor for awhile now and she was a huge help in bringing my scattered pieces of ideas into a cohesive and beautiful design. My love of flowers and designing is largely thanks to her and Siren, so I wanted flowers to be a focal point for the day. She and her team went so above and beyond to make the day special for us! My incredibly romantic bouquet, epic lunaria crown, and the mind-blowing tumbleweed ceremony arch by Ashley Renuart totally spoke to my heart!
The Ceremony
Our ceremony. I thought the dancing would be my favorite part, but truly the ceremony sticks out to us the most. Looking back, I think it's because it helped our wedding day seem more real. It grounded us, being surrounded by our friends and families, and brought us together through the vows we wrote for each other. It was the only time we really got to slow down and take in each second. I wouldn't trade that intentional time and space with Jack and our people for the world. And, the food and dancing after wasn't bad either...
Processional: Bridal Party: Valentine Virus by Jones; Bride & Father: Promise by Ben Howard
Recessional: Roses by The Chainsmokers
First Dance: Say You Won't Let Go by James Arthur
The Newlyweds
The bouquet, the mountains, the dress…isn’t she a vision?!
SO cute!
The Reception Details
The signature drinks were inspired by Jack’s favorite TV show: Mr. F’s Moscow Mule (Arrested Development) and Bears, Beats, Blackberry Mojitos (The Office), with signage done by friend and calligrapher, Valerie Smith.
So beautiful!
In addition to more dreamy floral designs by Siren, furniture from Witty Rentals and tabletop rentals from Hostess Haven brought the day’s moody-boho design all together.
HIRE A PLANNER at least for the month before, as well as a team who you trust with the details. Maria of Kingsley & Co Events gave us the ability to breathe in the planning process and during the events of the day. She was organized, professional, and I could come to her with any detail I was worried about. Also, make sure to spend time with your fiancé, talking about elements outside the wedding, too. It can eat up your whole relationship and stress you both out, so make sure you come back to the reason for the day! That's why you hire a team you trust.
I’m so thankful to all that came on board for our day. Megan and Brent of Studio Castillero were INCREDIBLE the day-of and I swoon every time I see our photos. I knew I wanted them to be our photographers long before our day came. And our video by Lovebrain Films is something I’ve replayed a million times over. I’m so happy to have documentation of the day — it really comes and goes so fast!
Such a beautiful day! Congrats to E + J from all of us at GWS!
