Today’s bride, Kristeen, is the fabulous wedding planner behind Kristeen Labrot Events, but today she’s handing over the reins to the other vendors to make her wedding go as smoothly as possible! Kristeen + Dennis have a very similar design aesthetic, which she said helped tremendously…there wasn’t one idea that he thought was too crazy! They incorporated all of their favorite things: cats, mannequins, and even Sylvester Stallone (Dennis is a filmmaker, so there are definitely some cinematic twists involved!)
Kristeen tells us: I’ve been a member of your Wedding Artist vendor guide for years + I actually found my photographer through your guide! We got married at Paramour Estate—my favorite venue in the world. I had planned a few weddings there and always hoped that’s where I would get married. Weirdly enough, I used a photo of me and the zebra in the hallway on my dating profile so it was meant to be!
So, want to see what happens when someone who has planned so many other weddings plans her own? The images from Westlund Photography will show you that it was pure magic.
The Details
Who else loves when a couple incorporates pets into their big day? Kristeen designed a monogram of their 3 cats: Orangie, Oliver and Max. The monogram was used on most of their paper materials!
The Wedding Party
Looking dapper, gents!
Kristeen’s princess-like gown with that stunning lace bodice is by none other than Rosa Clará from Panache.
(P.S. That’s the zebra from her dating profile!!)
To complement the moody and eclectic vibes of the estate, it was only natural to go dark with the florals! Rebelle Fleurs crafted this dreamy bouquet, while still bringing in a touch of lightness to make it pop.
For me, it was surprising my husband with the dress I had made for our reception. I messaged Dennis online because he mentioned Sharon Tate on his dating profile so I had her wedding dress recreated by the most amazing vintage reproduction designer in the UK.
The Epic + Moody Ceremony Space
WOW. WOW. WOW. One, the architecture of the room already makes it a striking space with the high ceiling and large arched window, but two—that candle altar with varying heights + all the greenery is the COOLEST!
Talk about a cinematic moment…these two really knew how to frame the space + create an eye-catching vignette.
Processional: Your Song by Craig Armstrong (Instrumental version from Moulin Rouge)
Recessional: Living in America by James Brown
First Dance: You’re the Inspiration by Chicago
Cocktail Hour By the Pool
Cocktail hour by the pool with string lights? Oh, we are SO there! Rebelle Fleurs designed a display with mannequin hands + florals—eclectic, striking, and seriously cool.
We named our signature drinks after the movie Cobra (the Cobretti) and The Last Unicorn (The Amalthea).
Reception Dinner
I designed matches with Stallone’s gun handle design from the movie Cobra as favors.
How darling are those cat cameos to go with the escort cards by Calligraphy Katrina?
The Newlyweds
Trust that the vendors that you have hired are going to take care of you on the day of. Everyone thought I was going to check in on things throughout the day – they were wrong! I knew I was in good hands and was able to enjoy every single moment of the day.
To top off their gorgeous marble-like cake from Fantasy Frostings, they had a lion + unicorn cake topper (Dennis is a Leo + Kristeen is a self-proclaimed unicorn nut).
