Take all the glamour of Old Hollywood. Meld it with the cutting-edge moodiness of elevated contemporary design. The combination is the nostalgic, modern, era-spanning aesthetic that this genius wedding shoot is all about.
“Set inside the historic Hollywood Theater, the editorial unfolds like a film narrative, blending live jazz, intimate moments, and a candlelit dinner scene enhanced by a custom light installation,” explains photographer Alina Kay.
The editorial’s vendors — led by the creative + executive producing team of Alina Kay Photography and Serce Events — brought this signature mix of clean lines + cut crystal to the historically restored 1935 theater-turned-venue in Minneapolis. Several stunning Katherine Tash gowns, a towering 7-foot cake, and a getaway in a vintage car getaway all came together across decades of design tradition so seamlessly, “merging cinematic nostalgia with contemporary design.”
“Cinema Luxe is a fashion-forward wedding editorial rooted in cinematic storytelling, and elevated production,” Alina says. “Inspired by classic European cinema and Old-Hollywood glamour, the vision was to create imagery that feels timeless yet modern—centered on mood, movement, and connection rather than excess.”
Cinema Luxe is for the vintage-loving old souls and the fresh contemporary visionaries alike. Cinema Luxe is a large-scale embodiment of your “something old” and your “something new.”
And, as Alina puts it, “Cinema Luxe is designed to inspire couples drawn to artful restraint, cinematic atmosphere, and weddings that feel experiential, emotional, and enduring.”
Dramatic Draping

“Rather than relying on heavy décor, the shoot emphasizes composition and light as storytelling tools,” Alina says of the editorial’s moody, shadowy chiaroscuro.

“Professional gaffers designed a layered lighting approach to shape each scene, allowing texture, silhouette, and negative space to lead,” Alina adds, nodding to the shoot’s incredible lighting + gaffing team made up of Jeff Villars, T Richter and Minneapolis College Cinema.

McKinney Vintage was behind the shoot’s flawless approach to all things accessories.

The striking banquet configuration in the middle of the Hollywood Theater’s iconic space was made up of tabletop decor from Linen Effects and furniture from Event Lab.

Paris Dining Club brought a delightfully creative approach to the shoot’s catering.

And how about these deep red, fruit-filled floral creations from Pansy Floral!

“Mood, Movement, and Connection”

The Silver Alchemist took the stage as the banquet table was whisked away and the draped reception setup was transformed to an unforgettable dance floor.

Be still our hearts! That sparkly silver sequin reception dress!!
The shoot’s looks — curated by style director Ekaterina Koptjaeva with wardrobe assistance from Morgan Lee Potter — were a textured, detail-rich adventure through all things edge + elegance.

Seven Feet of Sweet

Ink Sweets created the architectural marvel that is this SEVEN FOOT wedding cake.

The shoot’s many breathtaking bridal looks — including this long train off the shoulder corset bodice elegant wedding gown — were Katherine Tash from Anna Bé.

And the day’s Old Hollywood Glam inspired hair + makeup creations were all Maria Livingood at Studio M.

These gorgeous wedding gloves really do make the look.
