This styled shoot was over a year in the making! After a few reschedules due to Covid, it finally became a reality! From moody florals to mixtures of prints and textures, a hanging cake installation, and ending the shoot in an over 100 year old cemetery, in the middle of nowhere… our attention was piqued! This Beetlejuice-inspired shoot was a total labor of love and what perfect timing with the confirmation that a Beetlejuice sequel is in the works!
Designer + Florist Katy Doersam shared that this styled shoot was truly a labor of love! “When choosing Beetlejuice as the inspiration, I was really wanting to portray Halloween in a moody but modern way. I was drawn to the stripes of Beetlejuice’s infamous suit and wanted to add those in subtle, accent elements.”

By no means… This is not your typical orange and black Halloween vibe. Black and white play such a huge element in this shoot to reflect even the fun 90’s Art Deco style that’s shown throughout the house in the Beetlejuice film.

This velvet blazer from Theory and cool leather pants from 7 For All Mankind truly complimented the day’s theme. And the wedding day makeup by Brittany Woolard is absolutely perfect. Natural, but with a hint of pizazz (peep the glittery inner eye!!)

This sweetheart table couldn’t be more fitting! With a standout floral tablecloth with the moodiest floral arrangements and candlestick details, it’s moody and hauntingly gorgeous!
From Katy Doersam, “I then wanted to pull in some snake accents, since there is a small scene with a sand snake as the villain. So you will see snakes as the napkin rings, on the custom drink stirrers, and even on the bride’s nails!!”
It was super important to the team to include key elements from the movie like the “Handbook For The Recently Deceased” book and the Polaroid ghost photo!
