When the weather is 100 degrees and it’s the middle of summer, you might as well embrace the heat and give a tropical vacation spin to the whole day! Peyton + Josh moved to Idaho from North Dakota when Josh began school to be a helicopter pilot (the helicopter makes an appearance!!). So when their big day came about, they invited their closest friends and family out to Eagle, Idaho to celebrate with them!
As Peyton is a wedding photographer herself, she knows a thing or two about cool designs + darling details. She called upon Jordan Voth to capture all the emotions of the day, and Ira + Lucy to help form her modern tropical visions to fruition. With a ton of DIY crafts, including all the custom signage, invitations, seating chart, and calligraphy leaf place settings, P+J’s wedding is giving us serious vacation vibes…

The color palette for the day was kept to pretty neutral and muted tones, with a gorgeous pop of soft romantic florals brought in by Bloom by Madison.

Josh flew himself and his brother/best man into the ceremony in a helicopter! How fun is that?!
Our venue, called Willow Bridge was on a small private lake surrounded by the most incredible willow trees. We decided what better way to celebrate our love then having a big Fourth of July celebration by the water with good food, ice cream and an awesome dance party!

Talk about COOL!! Those hexagon escort cards were stamped with a custom monstera leaf stamp — and done by the bride. Way to go, girl!
Giving everything a vacation sort of vibe, they mixed in tropical hints throughout the decor; items such as coconuts, monstera leaves, and gold and rattan details.
The calligraphy on the monstera leaf, paired with the rattan charger, clear plate and gold flatware? Luxurious + tropical!!

As for the cake, the bottom layer was crafted by Sugared Memories with a wickedly cool texture + then topped with peachy pink florals.
One of my favorite memories of the day was looking around all my closest friends and family surrounding me on the dance floor and just feeling overwhelmed with pure joy and love. I also loved hearing Josh's vows, they were so heartfelt and sincere. He had worked so hard on them to make them perfect leading up to the big day.
My biggest advice is to both get involved and enjoy the process. Josh would sometimes be hesitant about getting involved in certain areas but then when the day came and he got to see it come to life knowing he had a hand in the decisions, made it that much more special.
Is there anything better than finishing off an epic day than by with a sparkler exit?! Congrats, Peyton + Josh!!
