Modern Meets Rustic Autumn Lake Wedding

Autumn Priest Lake Cabin Wedding

When the bride is a talented calligrapher and works in the wedding industry, you know she’s keen on all the details! Today’s darling day, photographed by the ever-amazing India Earl, takes us to a sweet cabin at Priest Lake in Idaho. Anna + Tyson lived in that cabin for the summertime, with their pooch, and it was there that they wanted to bring all their friends and family to celebrate their joyous union. With a focus on foraged florals, 70s-inspired details, tons of cozy autumn touches, and of course, each other, the day took on such a warm + comforting feeling with the help of planner + designer Be

Anna shares: We wanted our wedding to be as close to normal life as possible. This meant forgoing a lot of the industry traditions and simplifying the whole process. Tyson and I had been dating for 8 years so it seemed silly to separate on the day-of. We didn’t have a wedding party but rather spent the morning getting ready, taking photos with India and Jay, and even repairing some roof paper on one of the cabins. We were able to slow down and really feel the excitement of the day, and together enjoyed the buzz of what was to come.

Autumn Sunflower Bouquet

The idea for the florals: autumnal, rustic, foraged, wild, with pops of cream. Oh, how we’d love to have this bouquet by The Flower Hat in our hands/house at all times!!

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

Waking up together and driving the 40 minutes to our ranch. That was the most memorable moment, for me. The anticipation was setting in, as we knew all of our closest friends and family would be in one place — a place we adore. The whole week was very smoky because wildfires surrounded the area. You couldn't see across the lake or the meadow. But that morning it lifted and the sun was shining. It was magical! The entire was memorable but it goes by SO fast. I loved spending those first moments with just him and our pup.

welcome signage

When it came to the signage for the day, the fonts were simple and clean, which paired beautifully with Anna’s handwritten script.

Our Musical Choices

Processional: Truly, Madly, Deeply by Ray LaMontagne

Recessional: We had a bagpiper play for the recessional — both of our families are Scottish, it was pretty amazing.

First Dance: We also skipped a first dance but boogied all night, thanks to the 20 Grand Band.

Being in the wedding industry, I was fortunate to have worked with many of my vendors in the past. I had no doubts in trusting them to bring my vision to life. It was important to me to let them do their best work and to be uniquely creative, which I think resulted in a finer end product. If you’re planning a wedding, choose the vendors you admire and trust and let them run free.
