Happy Monday, lovelies! Let’s get this week started with Jen + Devin’s gorgeous Palm Springs wedding, which was pretty much handmade perfection right down the littlest detail! These two wanted their day to feel like it truly reflected them as a couple. Fun, full of love, and a little bit silly, says Jen. And from where we’re standing, it looks like they achieved that and then some! We are loving the overall playful tone + all of those super rad, DIY details that help set their day apart from the pack.
A bit more from Jen, Making it about the two of us was pretty easy since we basically crafted it from the ground up. Either of us would throw out an idea and anything that stuck or made us grin got put into motion! (I think Devin’s one disappointment was that he couldn’t quite get me on board with his idea of having a bouncy house…).
Big thanks to the lovely Katie Pritchard for the gorgeous photos and congrats to Jen + Devin on a beautiful day!
Majorly loving all of the unique elements + gorge textures in Jen’s bouquet by Dandelion & Grey!
The ladies each chose their own dress in a neutral hue. If you’re stumped on what to suggest for your bridesmaids, check out what we’ve got in the GWS shop!
Such a sweet first look!
Processional: Prelude from Suite No.1 – Bach
Recessional: Cello Suite No. 3., Gigue – Bach
First Dance: Crazy Love – Ray Charles + Van Morrison
That amazing hand-dyed indigo backdrop would be a dream to marry under, right?!
The perfect escort display for a sunny, Palm Springs day!
Jen: When we got to steal away by ourselves for a few minutes right after the ceremony. That was a brief moment where I felt like things slowed down enough that we could just quietly be together and appreciate the huge thing that we had just done! Oh, and the reception when things turned into a dance party and then a pool party. It was so wonderful to be able to look around and see so many of our friends and family who are normally scattered across the continent all in one place and having a great time.
Devin: The vows, because that's when everything else drifted away and it was just about us.
DIY brides, are you checking out these fun table runners + table numbers?!
Planning a wedding can be an exciting and wonderful thing, but it's also this new and huge and totally-loaded-with-expectations thing that you're navigating with your fiancé/family/loved ones. So it can also feel stressful and overwhelming at times. That's okay and is totally normal! One of the most helpful things I read early on was to not expect people to change their fundamental personalities just because you're having a wedding (whether that be yourself, your partner, your crazy aunt, etc). That little nugget really helped me stay grounded when I hit a more stressful day so that I was all the more able to enjoy the other wonderful times!
(Also, if you want to read that nugget yourself, check out "A Practical Wedding" by Meg Keene. I'm not affiliated with her in any way, was just a great breath of fresh air to read in the midst of planning!)

Awww gorgeous couple! They really enjoyed their wedding day! Beautiful!!!! Congrats!
Love all the pop of colors throughout this wedding!
Ninja turtle socks! Cool touch for the groomsmen! So many amazing details at this wedding – great ideas!
I’m getting married at the Cree in March and just love what you did to add your own personal touches to such a beautiful place. Can I ask how you made your signs? They’re awesome!
Hey Jen, love that you’re getting married at the Cree! For the big wooden signs we bought plywood from Home Depot (they can cut it for you), stained them, and got small gold hinges to attach the two sides. The triangles were done with a potato stamp (e.g. http://thecreativevault.blogspot.com/2012/08/tribal-triangles-potato-stamping.html). For the finer writing I used white paint markers, and for the larger titles, I printed and cut out the letters using our font on sticker paper. The smaller black signs with white text were pieces of wood or thick cardboard that we sprayed with chalkboard paint and then wrote on with the white paint markers or chalk.
Hey Jen,
Great stationary. What font did you use for your stationary/wooden signs?
Hey KT,
We used jacques and gilles for the cursive and mathlete for the rest.
Lovely couple…Congrats to both of you
Hi! I absolutely LOVE your invitations! Where did you get these done?
Hi Abbie,
We designed them ourselves and had them printed using Vistaprint. The fonts were mathlete and jacques and gilles if that helps!
Using Vistaprint, did you use their Standard Matte finish paper or the upgraded Glossy finish?
We used the linen finish
I love your table runners! Did you use craft paper or burlap?
I’m just finding these invites…they are amazing! Did you use a stamp for the triangle portion of your invites? If so, where is it from?
