Modern Garden Party Rooftop Wedding in New York City

Rooftop NYC Summer Wedding

From the bride’s fashion forward attire — she wore one rockin’ mermaid gown with illusion lace, and then changed into an epic white pantsuit — to all the suspended florals, and the rooftop views, we truly can’t pick our favorite element to this NYC wedding! The venue, Tribeca Rooftop, was brimming with florals, from the circular arbor, to the reception space which featured tons of hanging bouquets.

The bride, Jessica, shares Our venue was a modern loft-like space with soaring ceilings that could really be transformed into anything we liked. The huge skylight felt like we could bring the outdoors in, so I wanted our wedding to feel like a fun, romantic, garden party. We replaced the usual drapery with a wall of lemon leaves and incorporated hanging florals for our centerpieces. Low table arrangements were wild and lush with greens and soft pinks. I was truly just inspired by the space itself. The openness and the skylight with the stars twinkling above made me want our wedding to feel like it could have been an outdoor reception.

Jessica shares A little detail that we love also is that his cufflinks “match” my wedding band — both are infinity symbols.

Isn’t that dress by Pnina Tornai a masterpiece?! The sheer sleeves with the sweet lace detailing, the mermaid silhouette, and that ethereal veil… Serious WOW.

Jessica shares a little bit about the proposal: I knew Larry was getting a ring soon, and casually told my friends that I thought he would propose during our trip to Miami the next week. He caught wind, and decided to throw me off by proposing a little early! We had a date night planned for that Saturday night at one of our favorite restaurants. Over dessert, Larry begin fidgeting and asked to hold my hands across the table. As he began to talk about how much he loved me and how much he loved our life together, I was touched but honestly didn’t even think much more than, “That’s sweet, but, this is awkward, can I have my hands back?” Soon enough, I realized what was happening. He then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him with a ring more stunning than I could have ever imagined!

After we finished up, Larry took me on a secret car ride to the place where we first met, Orient Express, a cocktail bar in Greenwich Village. He had the same table from that night reserved, with champagne waiting for us. The surprises continued with a night spent at the Hotel Hugo in Soho, the room strewn with rose petals. The next day, to my surprise again, he had a brunch planned with our immediate family and a few close friends to celebrate our new engagement!

Yup — now this is where it’s at!! We can’t help but ooh + awe over all the hanging floral installations. Such a pretty way to frame a space and make a room feel more intimate.

For the outfit change, Jessica rocked this gorgeous jumpsuit with heels from Stuart Weitzman.

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

One of our favorite moments by far was the confetti cannon at the end! Our planner asked us about what type of exit we would like, and since our guests had to take elevators to get outside, many ideas just didn't seem to fit right. The gold confetti was perfect! Our guests loved it, were totally surprised, and we got to go out with a huge bang! It also kept people pumped up for the after party!

Congrats, Jessica + Larry!! And if you’re wanting to get a little bit more, check out this sweet clip by The Hons!
