Don’t be afraid of color! It’s easier said than done, right? Trust us, we’re eternal lovers of classic color combinations like black, white + natural green. We know bravery with color can be really scary. There’s always that uncertainty…will it all look good together?
Well, how about we take the big jump together, and stop being so fearful of a little color play? Today’s inspiration comes to us from Elevated Room Events and The Art Group LA, and offers a stylish challenge to play with two contrasting yet complementary colors: orange + blue.
Now, before you run away with doubt (because we’re in this together, right?), let’s be open-minded! Although it seems so opposing, this color combination is actually dynamite…especially with ultra modern accents of acrylics, geometrics + unconventional floral arrangements.
Eric Doolin Photography artfully captured this color combination inspiration editorial. Let’s embrace color!
Orange + Blue Stationery

Minimalism making maximum impact is the overarching theme for this inspiration. As an illustration, Bliss and Bone created paint-splattered paper goods with fun script and modern detailing.
An Artful Setting

Quick quiz: where is the art installation in this photo (pictured above)? A) The geometrics on the wall B) The floral centerpiece C) All of the above
Without a doubt, it’s C.

The Petal Effect worked with fresh + dried flowers to create true works of art with bold painted leaves, long stems, dried foliage + statement flowers.

Art on a Plate

For one thing, we’re ready to add more color to our plates!
Ultra Modern Lounge

Paint spattered art on the walls, cake + desserts remind us that art can be found in everything, and color treatment is important! In order to keep the modern aesthetic, these designed gravitate toward minimalistic details. The colors are meant to be used as accents to the stark white setting – a way to draw the viewers eyes to something deliberate.
