MisterWives’ Frontwoman + Drummer Wed in a Colorful + Fun Celebration!

If there’s one thing you should know about the team at GWS it’s that we’re huge music lovers. And no band gets us dancing through the afternoon slump like the upbeat sounds of MisterWives! Mandy is the frontwoman of the indie-pop band we can’t get enough of and Etienne is her long-time bandmate + drummer…GUYS, they got married! Is that not the happiest, most romantic thing you’ve heard all day?!

We are so SO thrilled to share their wedding today. It’s full of color, full of fun, and full of joy. Honestly, it’s like their music come to life. And that means it’s totally authentic to exactly who M + E are which is why we just love it so much! Plus, Anna Lee, the band’s tour photographer on the road, captured the day with a unique level of familiarity to so many people involved in the day.

Komolmis Designs gave us the design scoop: When we asked Mandy and Etienne for their favorite color, they told us, “The rainbow!” This formed the foundation of everything we designed and planned for their wedding! We wanted fun, unique and bright and colorful as they are.

The invitations were a fun surprise by Komolmis Designs: an unassuming navy blue envelope with an explosion of colorful watercolor designs inside!

The First Look

So sweet!! Mandy’s Rue de Seine gown is one of our faaaves.

Mandy loves lush, open face flowers, so Fern & Fawn built brightly colored bouquets, along with a flower crown for the bride and boutonnières for groomsmen.

The Colorful Wedding Party

LOVE seeing guys in color and this is how you do it! Etienne rocked the groom look in forest green, while the guys suited up in navy with floral ties all around.

As for the ladies, it was all pinks, corals, mustard yellows, and mint greens!

Ceremony on a Hill

M + E chose a hilltop ceremony above Gilbertsville Farmhouse. The wooden arch was adorned with colorful locally-grown + sustainably harvested florals + greenery by Fern & Fawn.

Wait—can we also talk about that rad coral jumpsuit?!

Yay!

Follow those Newlyweds!

Post “kiss the bride,” High & Mighty Brass Band and the bridal party led the procession down the hill toward cocktail hour—streamers + bubble wands in hand!

A Full-On Celebration

To back up just a bit…THIS is the sight that greeted guests as they arrived at the farmhouse! A rainbow balloon installation by Rose & Dale Photo Co. and a laser-cut “Bowleroo” sign at the barn entrance!

Guests enjoyed welcome drinks in the barn before taking a hayride up to the ceremony.

An Airstream photobooth by Rose & Dale Photo Co. was nearby—a taste of the reception fun to come!

The Reception

All the color! Loving those teal table cloths and hot pink velvet runners from Rhinebeck Rentals!

Guests dined on a vegan hors d’oeuvres + dinner by Plant Rebel.

An Explosive Ending

The night closed out with a surprise firework show by Majestic Fireworks! We can hardly imagine a better ending. Wishing Mandy + Etienne all the best as your love story continues!
