Black, white…and bougainvillea! If it’s a pop of pink you’re looking for, look no further than Southern California! Palm Springs is packed with it, and we love the way today’s couple worked their own minimalistic style in so perfectly against the vibrant backdrop. Kinsey + Nobu (who officially have the coolest names ever) celebrated with family + friends under the California sun, soaking in every bit of magic along the way. Here’s a little peek from Kinsey into the inspiration behind the day:
We usually gravitate towards modern architecture but when we saw the view and beautiful grounds at The O’Donnell House the romance was undeniable. Nobu and I loved the vibrancy of the palms and bougainvillea; we knew they would be the perfect backdrop for our special day. There was no discussion of wedding colors or a theme. Our attraction to a minimal aesthetic guided our wedding design. We spent a year and a half planning our wedding so when the time came we wanted to really take it all in and enjoy every moment. What they say about the day flying by is an understatement, it was beyond lightening fast.
K+N called on Hannah Costello she captured the most gorgeous moments! Let’s have a look, beginning with…
The Dress
Serious WHOA. Kinsey’s bridal style is major goals, right?! We’ll get to those shoes (!!) in a second but first, let’s get the details on her gown!
My dress was a total dream. I went to London for fittings with the designer, Hermione de Paula. The bespoke piece featured hand embroidered anemones and poppies embellished with paillettes, beads, and pearls. Personal messages were stitched into the tulle including anniversary dates, red heart balloons and our precious dog, Mowgli. It was an unforgettable experience to have the dress so perfectly fitted with so many romantic details.
The Bouquet
Kinsey’s darling bouquet was made up of blushing bride proteas by WildFlora. Aren’t they just dreamy?
The Ceremony
Processional: Groom: Stand By Me by Ben E King; Bride: By Your Side by Sade
Recessional: This Magic Moment by Ben E King and The Drifters
First Dance: I Only Have Eyes For You - The Flamingos
Our ceremony was incredibly important to us. There was a sense of affirmation when we both touched on several of the same sentiments in our vows. We don’t often share a lot about our relationship so this provided our guests insight into how precious we are to each other. We will always treasure the emotions our loved ones expressed they felt after witnessing our affection.
As the hours ticked by we were blissfully consumed with each other and made the most of our special day together. Our wedding was a whirlwind of love and happiness shared with our family and friends.
Kinsey’s bright pink crushed velvet Prada sandals had us scouring the internet for a pair!! OB-sessed. Here are a few fun pairs, inspired by Kinsey’s look!

Black and White and Bougainvillea
Dream duo!
The Reception
It was imperative that the tables were clean and simple so we featured monstera palms, single king white proteas, and small clusters of pillar candles. We wanted to honor the Palm Springs vibes without being overly desert focused. We found that keeping our wedding style simple was harder than expected. Most vendors have experience with more elaborate details. Several vendors we went with did not necessarily have practice with the clean, super minimal aesthetic that we were looking for but we worked together to achieve our vision.
Seniman Calligraphy‘s lettering skills made for the perfect, simple place cards at each setting.
Margaret and Corey captured the day on film and the first look is so sweet!
All our congrats to Kinsey + Nobu on your beautiful marriage!
