After the wedding day is over, we hear this same phrase from couples in retrospect: “It just goes by so fast!” But Poppy + Jesse were determined to keep mindfulness at the center of their Fiji elopement; being present in the moment + grateful for the same.
Because they love hiking + being in nature, eloping to the Fiji highlands just felt right. With a breathtaking scenery as their elopement backdrop, P + J kept their day natural, fuss-free, atypical and low-stress. What really allowed them to lean into their wedding experience, aside from the meditative breaks, was by trusting in the creative styling + photography from Kama Catch Me.
Poppy shares: We did some mini-meditations throughout the day; it helped us stay mindful and in the moment! I also did some yoga in the morning before I got ready, and Jesse relaxed in his own way…by the pool with a beer.
We’re ready to zen OUT and IN love with this natural elopement wedding. Thankfully, the talented team from Kama Catch Me snapped the day:
First Look
P + J driving through the rugged interior island, towards their mountainous terrain ceremony hill spot.
Highland Ceremony
Dried palm fronds – we love ’em!
The neutral styling of this ceremony arch is genius – with the mixture of dried palm leaves, orchids, cotton flowers + dried cotton. More magic from the elopement collective Kama Catch Me.
The ceremony itself and reading the vows we had written ourselves was really special - we both cried!
True Yogis, P + J, preformed a number of meditational practices throughout their wedding day – before, during and after. Namaste, cuties!
Doesn’t this dress perfectly capture the romance of bohemia? Poppy tells us about her chic gown: My dress was a Temple by Bo and Luca. I went to a bridal boutique sample sale and it was the first dress I tried on! I knew it was the right one, so I just bought it on the spot and didn’t have a second thought. It was a size too large, so I had it altered. She did an amazing job and was a perfectionist; actually also altered Jesse’s suit, too!
Tequila shots in lieu of a post-ceremony champagne toast – we are so on board with this. Cheers!
A vegan, refined sugar-free wedding cake, by Fiji Cakes, topped with fresh orchids. Mindful, beautiful + yummy!
Don’t think we didn’t notice Jesse’s stylish groom’s attire from Calibre. Studly!
Exploring The Highlands
Poppy’s Hermès silk scarf looks effortlessly chic wrapped in her hair – cool bridal style!
Just do it!
High fives all around! Congratulations on this adventurous + inspiring elopement from GWS!
