Barbara + Adam are an artistic duo, who wanted their New Jersey wedding to evoke the feeling of an enchanted forest – a la A Midsummer Nights Dream. But they took their theme beyond the decor + for their ceremony they read poetry they had written to each other in place of vows, Adam donned a super rad plum hued three-piece suit and Barbara and her bridesmaids had BRRCH Floral weave the prettiest fresh blooms into their hair! Below, Barbara tells us even more about what inspired their Summer Solstice wedding:
We chose A Midsummer Nights Dream as our theme to honor our history of theatre and art collaborations and to honor the fact that we got married on the Summer Solstice. We appreciate art and made sure to incorporate design details related to our theme throughout the event. We wrote our own vows to each other – both were in the form of poems that we read aloud to each other. This was so special because it came from the heart.
Thanks so much to Caroline Frost Photography for the beautiful photos!

We love all the ways the outdoors were brought inside to create the enchanted forest feel that Barbara + Adam were going for. From moss details, to beautifully curated terrariums, to the texture-filled centerpieces, this wedding shows how to really achieve a mystical garden feeling no matter where you are!
It all goes by so quickly so do your best to soak it in and enjoy it even in the stressful moments try to find a way to laugh and think how lucky you are to be in this process. Also, continuously thank those loved ones around you- they are just as stressed as you are and working hard to make your day special- they deserve all your gratitude and love!
And for people who want a DIY wedding - if you are setting the bar high remember to also cut yourself some slack. It takes a lot of work to put together your big day and just keep remembering that the most important thing is that you're marrying the love of your life. Be present in the moment during planning because the planning process goes by so quickly and can be just as special and exciting as your big day!
