Not sure about you, but there’s a very high chance this special girl’s six-year-old birthday party is WAY cooler than any party we’ve had…ever. Of course, when your mother is Alexis of The Shift Creative, you’re guaranteed a day that’s anything but boring! Take, for example, the color scheme: no pink here! Just shades of blues, purples, and iridescent highlights. Alexis asked Jacquelyn at Beijos Events if she’d lend a hand, and her response?
Obviously, I couldn’t say no! Royale of But First Party and Alexis were planning Sophia’s 6th birthday party and asked if I wanted to help style it. I jumped at the chance to work with these fellow creatives and boy, was it fun! Alexis took the idea of a mermaid party and made it her own. She’s known for her creative, outside-the-box installations and this time she truly outdid herself!

Girls Just Wanna Have Sun
Our six-year-old selves are screaming! And, to be fair, so are our adult-age selves. Alexis crafted this sea-inspired installation so guests could actually stand between the waves!
Look at this stuff, isn’t it sweet?
We’ll just say it—Ariel’s grotto has nothing on this dessert display.
It’s a birthday cake totally redefined by Sugar Crush Sweets! Aren’t the cute little desserts so perfect? Those cookies are by Cookies by Heather :)
