Noelle + Joe took their two favorite things—cats and outer space—and suggested (at first as a joke) that those two things should be their theme…and it stuck! Because what better time than your wedding to embrace the things you love most? Noelle tells us: We broke down the wedding day and rethought all the “traditional” aspects and made them our own instead with the help of our event designer + planner By Emily B.. We just wanted one big party that everyone would enjoy as much as us.
What did this look like? Well, N+J wanted to be together right before the wedding, so they sipped on some wine at Cellar Door Winery (right across from their venue, Brick South, located in in Portland, Maine) and arrived to cocktail hour, together. They greeted their guests and mingled for a bit, enjoying ‘Meowgartias,’ all before the ceremony began. And when it did, they walked hand-in-hand across the warehouse, through their guests who were snuggled up in cozy galactic lounges.
Sounds pretty out of this world, right? Let’s take a grounded approach and look at all the photos snapped by Lindsay Vann Photography! ;)
The Details
Fink Prints designed those galactic-inspired invitations (with calligraphy by Lulu & Roo Design Boutique). Subtle yet striking, don’t you think?
How darling are those Charlotte Olympia kitten kicks?
Noelle’s Leanne Marshall gown was all about movement!
The Ceremony
All those lights!!
Joe and I walked down the "aisle" together into a circle of our cheering family and friends for the ceremony which was officiated by Joe's cousin. It was so personal and beautiful, we both agree it was our favorite part of the day.
MAJOR YES to that crescent moon backdrop!! Want to see more ways to incorporate celestial-inspired elements into your wedding? Take a peek here!
The Newlyweds
Talk about cool cats. ;)
Costume change! Noelle shifted from her Leanne Marshall dress to a custom-made gown from Natalie Wynn. GORGEOUS, right?? We love all those starry details.
The Out-of-this-World Lounge
After the vows were said, N+J welcomed their guests to visit two different food trucks to sample their favorite fare: pizza and tacos. Then, they got to cozy on up in gorgeous lounges like this one!
Can’t get over the metallic details in these vignettes—made possible with pieces from Peak Event Services.
Rock candy cocktails, because why not?
The Starry Reception
The florals By Emily B. created were sprinkled and spattered with gold spray paint and displayed with iridescent crystals and metal star décor—all along the long family-style table.

Each place setting at the table included a place card featuring facts about cats, space, and even some about cats IN space.
This cake Autumn Nomad created is leaving us seriously *starry-eyed.*
Take some time with your significant other and talk about what a party to celebrate your love would look like if you had no preconceived notions about what a "wedding" is. That helped us get down to the fundamentals of what was actually special to us.
That over-the-moon type of love… Congratulations, Noelle + Joe!!
