Edgy Meets Glam: Marie Antoinette-Inspired Wedding in Paris

Marie Antoinette Paris Wedding

Have you got a penchant for all things Parisian? Did you fawn over the color scheme in Sophia Coppola’s ‘Marie Antoinette’? Do you have an affinity for all things glam, romantic + whimsical? If so, you’re in for one pretty + polished treat today! Nina + Gabriel hail from Los Angeles, but adore Paris so much, they decided to throw their ultimate dream day there (I mean, can you blame them?).

France was where they took their first big trip together, and it’s also where Gabe proposed… so it was only natural that they tie the knot in France! Nina shares: We were very inspired by one of our favorite films of all time Sofia Coppola’s ‘Marie Antoinette’. We love the aesthetic of every scene and the history if it. The venue we chose, Pavillon de Musique de la Comtesse du Barry, was actually a gift from King Louis XV to Madame du Barry (his official mistress, who was also featured in the film!) so there are more connections to Marie Antoinette than just design inspiration!

Doesn’t this sound enchanting?! We’re itching for a trip to Paris… and these photos by Lauren Scotti are only making us want to go all the more!

To kick off the design and get all the positively Parisian points, N+G chose a floral invitation suite featuring all the pink hues.

Extra luxe!! Nina went for a glam, princess-worthy look and rocked one well, rockin’, bridal crown by Amaroq.

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

How can we choose just one?! Walking down the aisle in a château halfway across the world with your soulmate and seeing all your closest family and friends that have come all this way just to share this moment with you… That’s definitely 'most memorable moment of your life' material! But also seeing everything we had been planning and dreaming from overseas finally come to fruition was so surreal.. and I’ll never forget popping so much confetti — you couldn't even see the floor!

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

Be true to yourselves and what you want! Everyone has opinions and advice, but ultimately the day is about you two and will be most remembered by you. There were a lot of opinions on everything from it being a destination wedding, the decor, some of the attire, and even the crown... but in the end those were the things that made it special to us and had everyone raving.

Another piece of advice I got from my brother that I think helped me keep my cool on the actual day... Don't be so focused on every detail being perfect... realistically one or two things won't go as planned, but your entire wedding day will be so amazing that at the end of the day none of that will matter.
