Luxe Meets Bohemian for this Desert Wedding at The Pond Estate in Palm Springs

The Pond Estate Palm Springs Wedding

Good morning, friends! Do you love all things bohemian? What about all things luxe? How about the desert? Well, what if we told you that today combined all of those things? Yep, it’s a luxe bohemian desert DREAM, planned to perfection by Details, Darling! Allison and Zak said their vows at The Pond Estate, a new sprawling property with a pool that backs up to the desert mountains.

Allison tells us: From the get-go, I had a clear vision of the vibe I wanted to create for my wedding—a sort of desert dream escape with a bohemian vibe. Zak thought that sounded cool (he’s pretty flexible), so we quickly decided on Palm Springs. Once we found The Pond Estate, we quickly realized we didn’t just want to have people come here for the wedding. We wanted to create a full weekend extravaganza! Friday night would be the pre-party night with close friends, Saturday would be the wedding and Sunday would be a brunch/BBQ day to hang by the pool.

We don’t blame them—a 3-day extravaganza sounds like a blast to us! Let’s see how it all came together in the photos Alexandria Monette Photography captured!

That Tulle Masterpiece

Inbal Dror Wedding Dress

Allison stepped out in the LOVELIEST gown. Say hello to this champagne tulle dream by Inbal Dror from Panache Beverly Hills! You bet we’re swooning over those beaded embellishments + the bows at the shoulders.

Zak kept it classy + luxe in his white suit by Franc Milton. He even had his initials embroidered inside.

Can we get a round of applause for this playful updo Malin Ekdahl created? We’re loving the addition of the feathers for a touch of texture!

The Bohemian Ceremony in the Desert

The Pond Estate Palm Springs Wedding

When it came to the decor and designing, I’ve always been a very artsy/crafty person so my vision was also very clear. It started with the wedding website I built on Squarespace. I used the same artwork I bought for the site to create the designs for the welcome sign, bar + food station signs, matchbook favors, and cornhole games.

Taking inspiration from the surrounding landscape, Layered Vintage incorporated tons of pampas grass, proteas, and textured greenery.

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

Allison: It's hard to say. It all was such a dream come true. But the moment that always comes to mind was during the ceremony when our officiant was starting his speech. He asked everyone to take a moment to look around and soak it all in. And I remember looking around at everyone and it was all so beautiful and peaceful—the love of my life standing right before me, us being surrounded by all our friends and family with the sun slowly starting to descend behind the mountains in the background and the desert landscape all around us. It was magical.

Zak: It may seem like an obvious choice, but what stands out for me is when Allison started to walk down the aisle. We'd been apart all day, and all the excitement and anticipation had made me a little anxious. But the moment I saw Allison headed toward me, smiling and beautiful in her dress, I felt all my nervousness melt away. I couldn't wait for her to get to me!

We also knew that we wanted the wedding to be fun and carefree and just a non-stop party for everyone. We like to just have fun and relax, so we did away with all the traditional wedding formalities—no bridal party, no speeches, no schedules, and drinks all the time for everyone.

The neutral palette with pops of burgundy, soft pinks and peach colors, mixed well with the industrial chairs, Moroccan lamps, and brass floral vases.

The Poolside Reception

How cool is this poolside reception?! From the pink buildings to the desert plants and those long family-style tablescapes…this is definitely a place we’d like to hang out!

The tables were lined with pieces from Signature Rentals. We adore how classic yet carefree + bohemian this feels!

I also wanted to create really fun and unique party favors that would serve as place settings for all the guests, so I created smudge sticks with dried sage bundles wrapped in ribbon and attached one of three crystal pendants: rhodonite (representing FREE), rose quartz (representing LOVE) and moonstone (representing PEACE). That was really representative of what I wanted everyone to feel that entire weekend: free, love and peace.

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

Relax and don't forget to enjoy the moment! Everyone says that but it's so easy to take it for granted, especially when you're busy with all the planning and preparation...when to be where, what to wear, what not to forget, etc. Take your time and have fun!
