The minute Jamie + Ian walked into the Graf Barn in Oxnard, California, they knew they found their perfect wedding location. From the one-of-a-kind antiques to the farm animals to the gorgeous barn for dinner it was an ideal spot for their wedding. Since the venue had an overall rustic feel, they played off that for their decor elements. Jamie hand crafted the wedding favors, banners, candle holders and frames amongst other details while Ian demonstrated his passion for home brewing by whipping up seven different hand crafted beer varieties! A laid back, fun and romantic evening with their closest friends. Congrats to Jamie + Ian and thanks to Katrina Louise for the photos!
Jamie: The thing that sticks out the most in my mind was the moment I locked eyes with Ian. I somehow held it together the entire day but minutes before I walked down the aisle I began to feel nervous. The second I saw him all of those feelings went away and I was able to calm down and take in the moment. I will never forget that smile on his face, by far the biggest smile I have ever seen.
Ian: Our first dance together as husband and wife had a huge impact on me. Other than seeing Jamie walk towards me in the ceremony, I had never experienced such a powerful rush of ultimate happiness and contentedness in my life. That was our moment frozen in time where nothing else mattered except for each other.

Find a location that you both love and suits your personalities. Having that foundation to build off of helps in the planning process and gives you assurance that no matter what, it will be a beautiful day without having to worry about the little details. If you find yourself getting stressed or frustrated, put everything aside for the night and pick up where you leave off the next day.
Ian's advice to the guys would be to not be afraid to get involved with the planning and decision making with your fiance. She will appreciate it and it makes the whole experience much more rewarding and fun.

Absolutely love this venue space in Oxnard! The floral and stationary definitely captured the entire theme of the wedding. From the roses and yellow buttons to the natural elements in the stationary and decor, they’ve captured a natural, organic element to their barn wedding.
