London Prep: Fresh + Modern Wedding Inspiration with Pastel Pops

Preppy London Wedding Inspiration

When you think of something posh, fresh, well-styled, on trend, and a bit on the cute side… There’s a very good chance that something like today’s editorial will come to mind! And if not, you’re welcome, because this fresh + preppy wedding inspiration is all kinds of delicious! From plain white walls, gorgeous florals, pastel pops, and an overall airy quality, we’re pretty positive that this will speak to the modern couple (and work so well for a bridal shower/baby shower/dinner party/celebration — basically any kind of event!).

The event designer, Holly of Revelry Events, shares Our initial inspiration for this shoot was a bit of a throwback to the preppy trend of years past:  think Gossip Girl transported to cool East London. Ponytails, pleats, academia-inspired geometrics and graph paper. All in the context of a trendy East London warehouse venue with its whitewashed brick, wooden floors and high ceilings.

Let’s head to jj Wimbourne for the day in these photos by We Heart Pictures!

Using a graph paper background and subtle pops of color, along with a spin on the traditional crest (so cute!), we’re in awe of this invitation suite by BerinMade.

The bride wore three different looks for the day. The first, a Watters long-sleeve and shorts lace jumpsuit from their evening range, paired with a vampy makeup look by Kayleigh K Makeup and a preppy pony from Michael Gray Hair. Sweet, yet sultry.

Appealing to a millennial couple who wants something fresh, cool and quirky, but rooted in personality and warmth – like the kind of vibe you get from an Oliver Bonas store — this is a new kind of preppy.

The tabletop look showcased the Grace and Thorn florals in jewel tone vases, including blousy peonies, freesias, delphinium and draping eucalyptus. It was grounded with a graph paper tablecloth, and pink and watercolor blue flatware sourced from IKEA — a great option for bringing a bit of *WOW* factor to your place settings when you can’t rent something similar.

Copper cutlery and jewel pink glassware from Couvert gave the rest of the table flirty pops of color, and the stationery from BerinMade brought a hint of Wes Anderson to the look with the geometric pastels and bold type.

MonAnnie Cakes provided the three-tier, geometric pastel cake, along with the adorable little pastel donuts and macarons for the sweets table.

The second look was Monsoon separates to hark back to the original collegiate-inspired design: a pleated tutu skirt with a beaded top. A fun and flirty combination which worked perfectly, might we add!

We can’t get over those florals by Grace and Thorn, especially with the vases that really *POP*.

The final look was a Katya Katya Shehurina gown with silk skirt and Italian lace top to add an air of feminine beauty. The natural satin belt was embroidered with, ‘Forever and always’, for a striking + unusual detail.
