Bring on the citrus! Today’s editorial is all about keeping things fresh; fresh with new ideas, and fresh with a new take for a spring color palette (we know a lot of you are currently planning for your spring 2019 weddings!!). Stop and Stare Events envisioned a stylish couple who wanted to push for something modern and cool with yellow and green hues, which would be juxtaposed by organic elements and bold textures, while keeping things minimal.
To do this, the team brought in an array of natural décor to The Lodge at Malibou Lake: driftwood pillars, fresh florals, geometric wooden accents, and tons of lemons and limes. The idea was to mix the unexpected, while grounding everything in natural elements.

The Modern Attire
GLAM it up! The bride donned a modern + sleek gown by Badgley Mischa, topped with striking (yet minimal) gold chains.

The Ceremony Space
The ceremony space featured a minimal and natural design, utilizing a display of natural driftwood pillars, adorned with fresh florals for the backdrop. The cross-back vineyard chairs and geometric wooden accent tables completed the design, which all fit perfectly in place on the gorgeous sprawling lawn of the Lodge at Malibou Lake.
Really digging the luxe + minimal look the bride and groom wore, juxtaposed with the organic + earthy backdrop!

Carmela Ice Cream provided this adorable ice cream cart, for a sweet treat of artisan ice cream. The fresh flavors included cucumber sorbet, lemon basil sorbet, blood orange sorbet, and chocolate sorbet.
The Modern Reception
Helllloooo, reception! Doesn’t this room look rich + refined, while still fresh + springy?
The reception table settings included grey marble chargers, matte black plates, metallic amber glassware, and modern gold flatware from Party Pleasers. The butter yellow napkins brought in a bright pop, lending a gorgeous contrast to the rich velvet La Tavola table runners.
Aren’t the brass deco chairs a fun contrast to the wooden farm tables?
Oak Barrel and Bloom incorporated bright and airy blooms along with fresh lemon and limes throughout all the florals. To give the bouquet, centerpiece and other florals a springtime pop, they accented with peach + creamy white blooms.
“Sprung on Love” Sweet Treats
Sweet Art Bake Shop created a spectacular array of confectionary delights, including: cake pops, mini fruit tarts, mini cupcakes, chocolate “bark,” and more! The highlight of the display was the 4-tier cake, in all its matte black + dusted gold glory. The cake featured edible florals, which perfectly complemented the overhead floral installation.
