It’s Friday, so let’s dream of a magical + beautiful place – how about something like Lake Como, Italy! Such a gorgeous backdrop for a wedding! Laura is American and Matt is Australian, but they live in London, so it was a bit of a challenge deciding where to hold their wedding that would be easy for their friends + family to attend. Since they both love Italy, they decided that Lake Como was the perfect location. Their color palette for the day was pulled from the setting: the greens of the mountains, the blues of the sky and the lake, and yellow of the sun and Italian lemons. It was most important for them to throw a party that their guests would remember forever, and to showcase their love of music, nature and traveling. Oh, and staying in a beautiful villa for a whole week was an incredible way to do that! Big thanks to Jonas Peterson for the photos and congrats to Laura + Matt!
Processional: Cupid de Locke – Smashing Pumpkins
Recessional: Howlin' for You – The Black Keys
First Dance: Let's Stay Together – Al Green
As everyone says, there were so many, but one that I loved a lot was walking out of the back of the villa, on my way to the ceremony. Across the street there was a group of Italian policemen sitting outside the police station. When they saw me and my bridesmaids walk down the stairs they let out a crazy cheer and kept cheering the whole way. The wedding was on a Monday afternoon, so it really set in how crazy that moment was for me and the Italian village that we took over!
How awesome is that photo above?!!
I just wanted to add that one of my favorite details was the signature cocktail we made. We named it after the Iceland volcano because that was how we met. To explain… In 2010 I was living in NYC and Matt was there on holiday. We met, on what was supposed to be his last night there. The next day the ash cloud from the volcano caused so many delays and cancellations so he wasn’t able to fly back to London for another week. We hung out every night on most days and fell in love. So our cocktail represented that! :)
Ask for help! I definitely tried to take on too much on my own, even though people offered to help. Also, make sure to EAT on the big day! Everyone is there to hand you a glass of champagne, but not many remember to offer you some food!

Wow! Gorgeous color palette, and stunning scenery! Love the image at the cave opening and the random guy hanging above!
It is always the little details that pull everything together. The different color glasses are so fabulous and pull the color scheme of the table together….!!!

Looks like a great wedding.
I could tell a mile off these images are by Jonas, his beautiful signature style. Great choice of photographer by the couple to compliment Lake Como!
