The Bride Entered on a Jet Ski for this Laid-Back Wedding at Kelly Slater’s Surf Ranch

Surf Ranch California Wedding

Corrie and Dave knew they wanted their fun and laid-back wedding to be unlike anything their guests had ever seen and boy did they pull it off! When the bride enters on jet ski, you know it’s going to be good! With festival flair and family as their focus, they planned the first wedding EVER at Kelly Slater’s Surf Ranch in Lemoore, CA – how cool is that?! The venue has a quirky and eclectic vibe with old surf boards on the walls, vintage airstream trailers and the world’s longest open-barrel artificial wave! Oh, and did we mention that Corrie had not one, not two, but THREE dresses?? This wedding was seriously one big, rad party!

Corrie shared with us about their inspiration for the day:

Dave and I were really passionate about creating an experience for our guests that wasn’t at all in the realm of being a conventional wedding event. We created something that felt more like a festival than a wedding and had a really unique experience for all of our guests – from Eddie Vedder giving us a private concert at our rehearsal dinner-to surfing at the surf ranch, we had a full on festival experience.

Singler Photography captured the details of the day, so grab your boards! Surf’s up!!

The Bride and Groom

We are loving C’s stunning hair and makeup by Shelly McMillan-Baird. She looks so beautiful and relaxed! We also HAD to ask about her THREE dresses! Here’s what she had to say about them:

I wore one for the ceremony that I bought from Spell and The Gypsy, out of Australia. I wanted something that was informal and I could hike up so as not to get it drenched on the jet ski. Just before dinner I changed into what might be the greatest dress ever- from Chosen by One Day which also came from Australia – it’s a custom made dress that made me feel like Beyonce. Funny thing is I don’t even like sparkles and glitter but it was fantastic! For the dance party, I slipped into a lighter option which was just a fun sheer for Love and Lemons dress. Even though they were all so different and unique they had the same theme of being sheer and worn with a bodysuit instead of a long slip.

Lavish floral created an amazing teepee-style arch to go along with C + D’s laid-back wedding vibe. We love how simple it is, but the large scale makes a huge impact!

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

Definitely the toasts that were given, that was something super special that you can reenact. There was also the bride jet ski entry-I always knew I didn't want to just walk down an aisle-I like to be a little different and this venue gave me the opportunity to really use my creativity.

C + D chose the perfect combination of relaxed and rustic decor for their laid-back wedding reception. We love how they used different sized floral arrangements and bud vases to add variety to the tables!

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

Relax! Although there might have been a little stress through the extensive planning process for such a dramatic affair - it doesn't do you any good anyway and you need all the rest you can get-so try not to lose any sleep! We really did try to just enjoy the entire process. Also, although we did all the planning, it's critical to have a day-of-coordinator so you can not think about anything. We had a really great crew! Lastly, don't get caught up in trends or what you think you have to do or have or wear. This is maybe the one time you get to have everything your way so embrace and take advantage of all that.
