Sam + Brian are a fun-loving couple who wanted their wedding day to be laid-back + lighthearted. After finding Diablo Ranch in Walnut Creek, and being inspired by all of its existing character + charm, they knew they’d found the perfect spot to exchange their vows. And by bringing in just a few personalized details – like sweet garlands of Instagrams that they’ve taken of each other over the years! – they were able to really make their day a reflection of their love, all while keeping an easy going + playful vibe! Here’s a bit more about the day from Sam:
We knew this much right off the bat: it was going to be outdoors, there were to be elements of my favorite color – mustard yellow, and we would serve only the best food. Brian and I are also blessed to have such talented family and friends who put flowers, dessert and other details together.
Thanks so much to Erik Clausen for the truly stunning photography and big congrats to Sam + Brian!
Such cute first look photos! And don’t you love Sam’s summery bouquet of daisies + feverfew?!
Saying our vows. There were more than 200 people watching and listening, but in that moment, I only remember seeing him.
Their escort card display turned out so great! And although it would be a bit time consuming, this would be such an easy DIY, too. Perfect for a rustic wedding!
For dessert, guests were served the couple’s favorite cookies + cupcakes, baked by friends + family members…
And these portraits of Sam + Brian during golden hour are just incredible!
Processional: Bridal Party: Come Go With Me – The Beach Boys; Bride: Come Thou Fount (performed live by Grow + Twine)
Recessional: Best of My Love – The Emotions
First Dance: Crazy Love – Van Morrison
Have dates where you don’t talk about the wedding. DIYers, delegate! At your wedding, everyone is watching you, but take some time to watch as well.
