If you haven’t spotted these lovebirds on Instagram lately, you may recognize them from this dreamy engagement session! We love their love story and we’re thrilled to share Jamie + Blake’s fairy tale wedding today on GWS! With her distinct eye for fashion + design, Jamie had a very clear vision for the day and turned to Laura at Perfectly Poised Events to help bring it to fruition. Here’s what Laura had to say about the inspiration:
When Jamie came to us with her vision for a vintage sunset-inspired garden wedding, we were ecstatic to plan this beautiful day and pull out all the stops! First thing: cultivating a stellar team of vendors who could flawlessly execute our grand plans. Not only did this amazing team of creatives put their heart and soul into every detail, they produced some serious #WEDDINGGOALS! We worked hard to create a meaningful guest experience, one that Jamie & Blake would dream about for the rest of their lives. From the bespoke vintage lounge to the carefully curated tabletops with unique tableware combinations, luxurious textured linens, ombre floral accents, and individual mini cakes, every ounce of Jamie & Blake’s reception dripped with character.
J + B wed against the gorgeous backdrop of Descanso Gardens and Morgan McCanne was there to capture all the beautiful moments from the day. Let’s have a look!
J + B chose a romantic floral invitation suite from Minted to announce the day!
Bridal Party Fashion
Practically every detail was custom designed to fit Jamie’s vintage sunset vision. The girls wore silk charmeuse robes with hand-dyed floral Alecon lace, while Jamie chose champagne silk and beaded Chantilly lace, all designed by Daphne Newman Design.
The headpieces were handcrafted by Nancy at MJF Bridal. For Jamie, a simple design featuring rhinestones, crystals, and glass pearls along with tiny, natural shell sakuras. The bridesmaids’ were similar, with the addition of peach hues to match their dresses.
We LOVE Jamie’s gorgeous long locks, so we got the scoop from Angela with Beauty By Alessi! Here’s how she achieved the look:
Jamie is a natural beauty! I played up her gorgeous tan skin with warm blushes and loads of bronzer and contour! For the eyes I wanted them bright, yet defined. I used her favorite strip lashes with mascara on the upper and lower lashes. Jamie has a great deep rosey pigment to her lips, so we just enhanced with a bit of liner and clear balm! As for her hair, she’s got gorgeous long locks! I used a 1″ marcel curling iron to achieve an effortless beachy wave that would last all night! I bombshelled it up a bit by teasing the roots, then sealed it with texture spray and hairspray! She was absolutely the most perfect version of herself that day!
The ladies wore copper-colored Show Me Your Mumu dresses—fun fact! That’s Jamie modeling the first dress below!
Blake’s suit by Grooms Grotto was designed for a formal and timeless yet “unique to him” look. In addition to the dark charcoal wool/cashmere blend, Blake selected a custom jacket lining and embroidered the wedding date inside!
The First Look
Blake: Trying to choose the most memorable moment on your wedding day is such a difficult task. When I stop and think about the day, which is often, there are so many moments that make me so happy and full of joy. All in all it was the most incredible day. One of the most memorable moments for me had to be the first look. I have never been excited as I was standing there, waiting for her to come up behind me. When I heard her voice time seemed to stand still. I turned and, waiting there, was Jamie. Her beauty was so radiant, I just wanted to stay in that moment forever. We were both smiling and laughing and crying all at the same time. They were tears of joy—what we had talked about for so long was finally happening.
Jamie: It’s almost impossible to pick just one moment from the entire day! I think one of the best feelings out of the entire day was when Blake and I did our first look. I made sure to stand far enough behind him so he could see my whole ensemble, then I told him to turn around, and he was already crying. It was the cutest thing ever! We finally got to see each other after an entire day of running around and getting ready. The first look is so special and it’s a private moment you get to have before all the craziness starts!
The day was filled with picturesque vignettes, crowned by the beautiful overgrown floral ceremony arch!
Blake + Jamie: The Newlyweds!
Isn’t Jamie’s Lazaro Bridal dress a dream?? She paired it with a custom cathedral veil by Daphne Newman Design, made with the same French Chantilly lace as her getting-ready robe.
Rachel at Joy Of Bloom Florals pulled inspiration from Jamie’s sophisticated, free-spirited personal style and the sunset color palette, taking advantage of lush, seasonal blooms like butterfly ranunculus, Juliet garden roses, sweet peas, and Japanese spirea.
SO pretty! Joy Of Bloom Florals created a chandelier of babies breath and hand strung floral above the sweetheart table to capture the ethereal romantic beauty of the venue.
This view! Like a fairy tale!
All of the day’s calligraphy was created by Stephanie with Double Dipped Calligraphy, who turned to acrylic as the material of choice, from the welcome sign to the individual cake toppers.
Each guest had their own personal mini cake that doubled as place settings by Elise Cakes. Isn’t that amazing?? And they look just stunning atop tableware from Archive Rentals and luxe linens from BBJ !
Know what you want, find a planner who you get along with, knows your style, and will get things done. Having a good planner is essential. Find inspiration from other peoples' weddings and then add your own flair, your own uniqueness. At the end of the day, it’s all about you two so do what you want and what’ll make you happiest! Also, one thing we made sure to do after the ceremony: take 5 minutes just the two of you to enjoy the day without anyone else around!
For the cutting cake, Elise Cakes pulled inspiration from the enchanted garden setting and gorgeous spring hues used throughout to build an elegant 3-tier cake, draped in an ombre cascade of vibrant fresh florals. Utterly dreamy!
For another look at the day, check out the video below from The Quail & The Dove! Such a lovely day and a lovely couple. All our congrats to Blake + Jamie!

Wow what a gorgeous wedding !!
Very glamorous indeed.
What a gorgeous wedding! That veil is absolutely stunning. I believe that an accessory reflects on the outside how you feel on the inside.
What a beautiful wedding! Do you know what color the bridesmaid dresses are? Love the color!
