It Was All Deep Blues + Vibrant Hues at this Modern Palm Springs Wedding

Modern Palm Springs Wedding

Attention to all brides-to-be out there — today’s lovely lady, Courtney, has an important message for you: I know, I know, many grooms and significant others aren’t really into the whole wedding planning thing… But some are! We actually planned our wedding completely together. Geoff was not an innocent bystander, but rather he had his hand in every aspect of the process, and it was a true team effort, which I think made it even more fun! Definitely ask your love their thoughts + get them involved, that way it can be even more personal and custom to the two of you.

At GWS, we LOVE when couples work together to create something that represents their unique love… After all, every relationship is different, so shouldn’t your wedding be too? For C+G, their day was inspired by the Mid-Century Modern vibes of Palm Springs, as well as the desert environment. Wanting to cut out a major load of stress, they teamed up with Boldhouse to help them distill + execute all their ideas into a style that was distinctly their own. Inspired by deep pool blues, vibrant pops, and luxe gold accents, the day turned into one marvelous event.

Let’s dive into the photos snapped by Lauren Scotti!

Courtney shares: We were inspired by pool blues, gold accents, and traditional wedding white — accented by colorful blooms from the talented The Bloomin’ Gypsy!

Courtney gushes: One of our favorite parts of living in California is the ability to drive a short distance and feel as if you’ve gone to another part of the world. Palm Springs has been our favorite weekend getaway since we first started dating, because we it’s vintage style and the laid-back lifestyle. We wanted our guests to have a fun weekend away in one of our favorite places.

After much debate, we settled on the Avalon Hotel & Bungalows in Palm Springs for our wedding venue. We loved the ode to old Palm Springs with a crisp modern style. Once we saw the beautiful back drop for the ceremony – with the giant palm trees and a view of the mountains – we knew this was the venue for us.

As an ode to our love of baseball, our officiant created a ‘7th Inning Stretch’ before our vows, and our guests stood and sang our version of Take Me Out to the Wedding.

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

Our favorite memory was our introduction/entrance to dinner. We set the tables in a unique way, which had us walk by all of our guests to get to our seats. We were showered with love, cheers, and hugs as we made our way to the head table, and it was a really cool way to connect with everyone as the party portion of the evening began.

Such a spectacular reception space with all the twinkling lights! For a DIY touch, C+G carved their own cactus stamps to decorate their Welcome Bags for guests. Inside each bag was a handwritten Thank You note for the guests, in honor of their grandmothers (who were real sticklers for Thank You notes). They included their favorite chips and salsa, gummy bears, sunscreen lip balm, water, and a list of fave Palm Springs hotspots!
