Inspired by the beauty and the long lost art of handwritten letters, Erica Elizabeth Designs latest collection harkens back to a bygone era. Overflowing with golden + gilded headpieces and crowns, along with whimsical veils and darling jewels, her collection speaks to vintage-inspired bride. For the 2017 Love Letters Collections, photographed by Meghan K. Sadler, Erica researched intensely and found a stirring collection of heartfelt messages from the past — a rich cache of correspondence penned on authentic Titanic stationery and faded parchments splashed with lover’s tears.
Erica shares more with us: The inspiration for my new Love Letters Collections 2017 was sparked by a handwritten letter written over a hundred years ago. Penned by a World War I soldier in the trenches of France and posted to his girl a continent away, this tender missive, creased with the folds of time, moved me to tears and prompted further exploration of the deep emotional resonance of taking pen to paper… Wholly absorbed in the stories that were playing out on paper, she copied, scanned and pasted hundreds of these handwritten letters onto paper and pasted them up, soon covering an entire wall in her bedroom!
How romantic is that? We can’t wait any longer to see what sort of designs she crafted! Let’s take a look!
How dreamy are these Bridal Hair Pins?!
So ethereal + so beautiful!!
The Love Letters 2017 Collection seeks to harness the lovely sentiments of the past — to capture romance, yearning and desire in each of my handcrafted headpieces, veils and accessories. This is the Cherish Me Wedding Rose Bridal Crown.
So elegant + airy!
Inspired by the unbridled passion of the Roaring Twenties, this quintet of fiery starburst jewels tops a velvet-wrapped band to make a wholly spirited statement in this glamorous Starburst Bridal Celestial Crown.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!
The impact of a heartfelt message committed to paper in beautiful cursive script is indeed powerful, a statement of love that is lasting and cherished. Why not write your loved one a handwritten letter today?
Continuing the homage to the past, Erica’s collection honors her grandmother Ida, who sewed her own gown by hand. Erica shares I feel so blessed to carry on her legacy of hand-sewn craftsmanship.
How insanely gorgeous, whimsical + utterly romantic is this collection from Erica Elizabeth Designs? We could definitely see some 2017 brides in these darling pieces!
