We see so many beautiful outdoor weddings here on GWS, from coastal nuptials to national park elopements to desert escapes, but it’s hard to top the mystery + magic that lie deep in the woods! Where Snow White kissed her prince, where Sleeping Beauty waltzed right in to true love: we can’t help but get swept away in the romance of it all! Becca at Rivkah Photography teamed up with the planners + designers at Blushing Ivy to run wild with that magical theme, creating a visionary day straight out of a fairy tale:
Tucked away in the rainforest of Sooke, British Columbia lies Cedar Haven Weddings, a venue lush with fern, cedar, and all of the green offerings of the West Coast. This sanctuary, as its name proclaims, is truly a haven that acted as the perfect setting for our modern day fairy tale elopement. Lead by newcomers to the wedding industry, Blushing Ivy and Ingrid Rose Floral Artistry, the color palette and vision for this magical day was ultimately determined by the changing seasons. As winter became spring and cherry blossoms began to bloom, we landed on soft mauves, blush pinks, and ivories, complimented by a pop of pink – an ode to the start of spring and the colors to come. Of course, no fairy tale is complete without a muse. Ours was Belle, a strong female lead who challenged the social ideologies of her time and made us all want to head to the bookshop, tuck into a comfy chair, and read of far away adventures.
