Intimate Minnesota Farm Wedding: Jaclyn + Gonzalo

Minnesota Farm Wedding

Jaclyn + Gonzalo live in Los Angeles, but tied the knot at her family’s gorgeous farm in Minnesota. Since Jaclyn actually plans weddings for a living, she knew right away what she wanted (and what she didn’t) for her own. She says, I’ve been exposed to many elaborate and over-the-top beautiful weddings; however, we wanted the exact opposite, a simple & intimate dinner gathering in the middle of the woods. We wanted our close friends and family to be immersed in nature and to enjoy amazing food with live folk music and a bonfire to cap the evening, a one of a kind experience for most of our family.

Below in Levi Tijerina’s gorgeous images you’ll see exactly how J + G pulled it off. While we’re having trouble pinpointing a favorite detail, we simply can’t get over the handmade tables + benches, the organic blooms by Studio Fleurette, or Jaclyn’s stunning vintage wedding dress. Let’s take a peek…

Jaclyn’s vintage dress was such a great find! One of our favorite places to browse + buy vintage dresses (or vintage or handmade anything for that matter) is the always-trusty Etsy.

We didn’t have the help of local vendors as we typically do in LA, so we used our resources and handcrafted almost everything for the wedding, from the pathways to the ceremony benches to rigging the lights to making all the tables out of old barn wood and even constructing a kitchen in the middle of a field. Gonzalo and my family worked extremely hard to make the vision come true. We loved the challenge and every aspect of the journey and it’s something we’ll carry with us forever.

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

This is a very difficult question as the entire day and wedding was like a lucid dream; however, I would say it was a combination of walking down the pathway in the woods with my father in hand and tears in my eyes to give me over to my soon to be husband. And also seeing our overall vision come to life & the joy it brought to our friends and family.

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

Less is more. Don’t expect perfection, as there is beauty in the imperfection. I’m a very detailed oriented person, but there comes a time when it’s right to let go and let life happen. You can’t control everything, especially your own wedding.
