This Couple Let The Beauty of the Desert Shine For Their Intimate Joshua Tree Wedding!

When this bride and groom started planning their SoCal desert wedding, they knew they wanted it to be intimate, meaningful, and somewhere beautiful. But first things first, we cannot get over how this adorable couple met! It took place nearly a decade ago…get ready for this next part…at a sneaker shop!! Both of them randomly walked in at the same place at the same time to shop with friends, and their connection was immediate! Now ten years later…look where they are! ❤️👟

The couple shared with their planners + event designers Frankie & Louise that they didn’t want a typical “theme” and specific colors for their big day. Overall, they wanted the beauty of the desert to shine against a modern set-up contrasted with black & white florals and rentals, and boy did this creative team deliver! Florals were a big part of their day, all based around the panda anemone (a beautiful black and white flower). Prism Floral Design built an asymmetrical arch using a mix of white flowers and baby’s breath that was absolutely to die for and really made the ceremony pop! Photographer Sarah Olivia captured every detail you’re about to witness and we’re so excited to show you this intimate and wildly inspirational celebration in the desert!

Black, White, and Forever Classy

SUCH a vibe! When looking at venues, The Morada in Joshua Tree instantly stood out to the couple – they even agreed it was one of the most unique places they’d ever been to! Tucked away on private BLM land, the Morada features a modern house with an infinity pool and a free-standing music studio/guest house – which was perfect for the groom as he is a singer/songwriter.

An All Natural Wedding Ceremony

The unique rock structures on the property paired perfectly with the backdrop for the ceremony.

Let there be music! Cattus Quartet, a 4-person string quartet, played as the couple made their way down the aisle.

The evening was kept small and intimate with only 30 guests and no groomsmen or bridesmaids. The entire wedding was outside and the couple exchanged vows as the sun started to set over the mountains – such a beautiful moment!!

When Modern Meets the Desert

“For the reception, we had one long table to seat all of our guests with bud vases, a white tablecloth, and black chargers and tableware. Twinkle lights set the scene above us as we ate and laughed under the desert stars.”

“Our meal was prepared by Flavor Chef Catering, who created a 3-course (gluten-free) meal that was absolutely delicious. I will never forget this amazing night celebrating with our closest family and friends – and I really believe that small weddings can be just as mighty!”

A Cocktail Hour Photoshoot

“During cocktail hour, my husband and I trekked up the nearby mountain with our amazing photographer, Sarah Olivia, to capture our sunset couple photos. I refused to take off my heels for the hike! The views were incredible and I will cherish the memory of being on top of that mountain with my husband forever.”

This couple certainly kept it cool and classy when it came to outfits. The bride looked absolutely stunning in her gown from LOHO Bride and the groom wore a custom suit from Bonobos that perfectly complimented their color scheme.

From the smiles on everyone’s faces, I think it’s quite evident that this dinner party reception was truly a hit!

A poolside celebration with the couple’s closest friends and family was the perfect way to end this picturesque day…and we are so honored to have been able to share it with you all! Congrats to the happy couple from the entire GWS team!
