Intimate Destination Wedding Among the Rolling Hills of the Italian Countryside

Intimate Destination Wedding in Italy

When you’re in love, you want to show it off. Which is why, when Kristine + Zach fell in love with Italy (and each other, of course), they knew they had to share it with family and friends! A destination wedding began to take shape and beautiful Siena awaited. Here’s what Kristine told us about their inspiration:

After Zach proposed last year in Italy, we knew we wanted to return to the gorgeous Tuscany countryside. Our wedding day was inspired by the beautiful rolling landscape and gorgeous architecture of the villas nestled in between the vines. We knew we wanted both the views and the natural elements of Italy to be the main aesthetic element of the day and our wedding details to accent that.

They kept the wedding intimate and called on Brannan Events & Design to pull off all the design details. Meanwhile, The Poffs came along to document the day—let’s have a look!

First Look + Private Vows

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

The most memorable moment had to be after our first look when we shared our personal vows with each other. We opted for sharing our vows privately to keep it intimate between the two of us; it was so special. Thanks to The Poffs' amazing video, our family and friends are able to hear our vows after the wedding day!

Thinking of having a destination wedding? Here are some great tips from Kristine:

Wedding days can be stressful and choosing to have a destination wedding adds to the list. There are a lot of factors that come into to play that you wouldn’t think of. It’s important to keep in mind that you won’t be able to control everything that happens. When traveling, think of maybe buying a light dress for comfortable travel and easy day trips. Also, consider having family and friends bring over some of the decor (one of the toughest parts of getting married out of the country!). Last, it is so worth it! If you think a destination wedding is right for you, do it! It will forever be the best and most memorable week of our life!

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

If you’re planning a destination wedding, keep in mind what is important and plan from there. For us, our top priority was making sure our guests who flew halfway across the world had a good time. We set up activities during the week for once in a lifetime experiences with our favorite people including excursions and day trips to nearby cities. While the wedding day was about us, we wanted the week to be about them and celebrating that they traveled so far to be with us.
