We will try to refrain from overusing the word, “darling” to describe this intimate bridal shower inspiration at The Darlington House but we just can’t help it…this event is simply…darling! Lauren Weidley of Chancey Charm San Diego designed the day with a very specific type of bride in mind:
She has such a big heart and loves well. She isn’t one for crowds and connects better in intimate settings with her close gal pals. She gravitates towards glam while still remaining one of the most laid back gals you know. She loves the onset of summer with its cool evenings and breathtaking sunsets it brings.
With summer around the corner, we’re super inspired by this set up for the chill girlfriends in our lives! Whether it be a bridal shower, engagement brunch, birthday, or even a summer girls night, bring on the wine and cheese because we. are. ready. And HOW PERFECT that today is #nationalbestfriendsday?! A great reason to raise a glass of rosé, we say :)
Here’s more from Lauren! As spring quickly turns into that beloved summer season, I wanted to capture a true intimate evening soiree inspired by this bride. I was inspired by her laid back nature, these longer summer evenings and the deep sunset colors. I wanted to create an atmosphere and space for intimate conversation between her and her bridesmaids to celebrate and dream about what this next chapter in her life holds.
Lindsey Marie Photography captured the day with lovely detail—let’s see!
Hi, can we live here, please?
Insanely adorable floral installation by Blue Ladder Botany!
If your mouth is watering…same. The Wild Thyme Company created a rather appealing menu for the ladies, full of some of our favorite colorful foods!
To save you the time you’re about to spend googling these pieces, here’s our roundup to get the look:

Adore Folklore provided the perfect poufs, furniture, and tabletop rentals for the (incredibly darling) space!
What better way to wash down all that pretty food? We’re stocking up on some of our fav bottles from Winc (like Summer Water, THE BEST rosé) and if you use this link you can get 4 bottles for $30!!
This intimate evening soiree is the perfect excuse to grab a flowy gown for epic and memorable gal pal photos, while the cozy bohemian atmosphere allows shoes to remain optional. I wanted the rich bond of dear friends to shine through in every aspect of this evening soiree; from rich summer colors, rich cuisine, down to the elegant and rich gold foil on the desserts. Delicate lighting with the glow of candles invites this gals only soiree to last well into the evening.
Sweet Cheeks Baking Co. created this gilded dream of a cake!
Hey, ladies! Looking so good in those Show Me Your Mumu dresses!

Sooo totally perfect. And, yes, darling :) Now, we’re off to find a flowy dress and some wine…happy summer celebrations!

This editorial was a dream to design + execute. I’m obsessed with slow summer nights and think brides could use a bit of those chill vibes during their hectic wedding planning months. Thank you to this insanely talented group of vendors that truly made it come to life!
Oh my gosh, Lauren, this is so beautiful! Love your styling and those rentals are to DIE for. Definitely a gorgeous and laid-back celebration any bride would be happy to be “showered” with!
Thank you, Skylar! This is the epitome of how I’d like to celebrate anything :)
