There’s something about the fire of Spain that just draws us in. Perhaps it’s the moody + colorful palettes that we tend to see coming from there, or the creative way love stories are captured. For this intimate + bohemian elopement in the mountains of Granada, Open the Door Events wanted to capture two elements coming together: earth and fire.
Opi of Open the Door Events shares: Angela is the fire and Ivan the earth that grounds this beautiful soul. The idea was to evoke emotion through the colors, tones and textures. A+I displayed their emotion and passion for one another without hiding their flaws; I didn’t want to show perfection or beauty, rather their real, natural love. The colors for the session were deep reds, oranges, golds, and soft pinks, representing fire and to stand out from the arid earthy grounds.
Prepare to be swept away in all the dreamy photos snapped by Joy Zamora!
The Outfits
Ivan wore a muted red suit with a salmon pink shirt. Angela donned a delicate, handmade Rasha dress, with shimmering gold beading, reminiscent of flames.
Can’t get over that beading!!
The Mountain-Top Ceremony
Hello, textured florals!! Andaluflor played off of the wild nature of the mountain-top and wove in brilliant orange and red pops.
The session was shot just as the sun set, creating this magical glow that surrounded them.
The Newlyweds
That golden light — SO GOOD!!
Isn’t this mountain scene dreamy? For those that are looking to elope outdoors — Google Maps is a HUGE help when scouting locations, as well as talking to your photographer and searching for ideal spots (they will also be looking for the best light, too).
Looking for similar outfits? Here are a few of our faves:
The team stayed in authentic cave house for three nights to get to know the couple even better and shot the session over two days. Opi shares: We hunted for breathtaking locations in the remote parts of Andalusia and found much more beauty than we ever expected.
The Intimate Reception
On day two, the team created this darling cocktail + cake setup in the garden of the cave house. They used fruits in the same tones as the florals for the table decoration, and hung string lights to create a dreamy, romantic setting.
Seriously digging all those warm, rich hues!
An absolute dream. Is Andalusia on your list of places to visit? It’s certainly on ours!
