Inspired by the relaxing nature of Ojai, California and its focus on everything organic + natural, Miguez + KD knew it was the perfect place to celebrate their love. Held at Black Walnut Ranch, their intimate wedding (30 people in attendance) had major springtime vibes, with an abundance of greenery + bright tangerines. Incorporating florals everywhere, along with a sort of indie rock-inspired vibe, M+K personalized just about every nook and cranny: from a temporary tattoo station, a vintage trailer “welcome wagon” with cameras for guests to take snaps with, and even custom mix CDs made to look like old vinyls!
Miguez + KD share a little about the inspiration for the day: Our wedding inspiration and planning started with the location and everything followed through from there. We both love Ojai; we would go up there on any open weekend when we just want a little getaway from the city. We wanted to make it an intimate weekend event for our closest friends and family. When we found the property, Black Walnut Ranch, we fell in love and envisioned our entire wedding weekend there with the view of the Topa Topa Mountains and around the beautiful setting of the ranch.

Both brides wore exquisitely beaded dresses from BHLDN and carried bouquets brimming with cheery, springtime florals by Topa Flora.

Our favorite moment was right after the ceremony, when we walked together and had our first few moments alone as wife & wife. That was precious.
Later in the day, the two brides changed into some of the prettiest suits we've ever seen! KD's pink suit is by Elie Tahari, while Miguez's ensemble is from Zara.
To top off their looks, the brides wore Gucci shoes! The sparkly gold pair can be found here, while the white + striped pair is available here.

Our Advice
This is the best advice we received from one of our best friends while we were planning our wedding and just wanted to pass along. She said that not everything will go as planned and thus on the wedding day, don't stress yourselves and learn to let go of small things that don't go as planned. Not every detail is within your control, so it's much better to take it easy and just enjoy the day. This helped us a lot and made us feel relaxed and just enjoyed every moment of the day. And it actually turned out perfect.
