We’ve said it time and time again, and we’re going to keep reiterating it — we LOVE anniversary sessions + we think they are so important! As your love changes and grows, it takes on a new life and new memories are formed. We wholeheartedly believe it’s important to capture your love through all of its seasons, documenting those periods to look back and reflect on.
When photographer Katch Silva sent over this “icy hot” anniversary session at the Blue Hot Springs in Utah, our hearts nearly skipped a beat! The hot springs, which truly are named for their blue hue, are about an 8-mile hike during the winter (due to snow), and make for the most epic of backdrops. Katch shares: Dee and Conner love hiking and they love hot springs; they had actually visited these hot springs before in the summer, when the hike was only a couple miles in. But with the rough winter conditions we ended up being there in a much less busy time and it was amazing to have these almost all to ourselves.

Dee + Conner share: We recently had our two year anniversary. One thing that really helps our relationship is spending time outside, whether it is a long hike to some amazing hot springs, or a small walk around the neighborhood. There is just something about being outdoors and doing something that we both enjoy that helps take away the stresses of life and focus more on each other.
These hot springs have always been one of our favorite hikes, so it only felt natural to do a shoot there! We were so excited to have Katch with us — her adventurous spirt is definitely on par with ours.

We love to travel, whether it is across the world, or here in the state of Utah. Our advice would be to get out and explore amazing spots like these hot springs with the person you love most!

Perfect anniversary celebration spot. Blue hot spring is really a natural phenomenon. Couple’s pics are really amazing in transparent water, it will always have a milky white color. The sun simply makes it look blue.
