Kara + Kevin met through a friend in college and carried their relationship through life in three different cities – Kara in Seattle, Kevin in Denver, then Sacramento. Many flights and late night phone conversations finally came to an end about a year ago, when they both moved to San Francisco. They spent their first year together exploring + photographing their adventures around much of the U.S., but their biggest adventure yet was a trip they were planning to Iceland. They both had travelled to other countries, but this was their first international trip together, and they were excited about it to say the least. Deciding that it would be fun to document their journey, they invited their close friend, Karen Obrist, who also happens to be an amazing photographer, along for the ride. But what Kara didn’t know was that Kevin was also planning to propose during their visit to Jokulsarlon, a picturesque glacier lagoon complete with floating icebergs and home to arctic seals!
How fun to have such killer memories from such a special journey. We love that at this point Kara still didn’t know what was about to happen…
So incredibly sweet! A moment these two would never forget no matter what, but having Karen there to document it all makes it even more amazing!
Post proposal the three continued on, taking photos at the Blue Lagoon and all around Reykjavik.
Such a special time, captured to total perfection! Congrats to Kara + Kevin and thanks so much to Karen for sharing these gorgeous photos with us!

What a beautiful and breath taking location for a proposal! I love it!
Anybody else want to know how the heck they got out on that iceberg without getting soaking wet?! Haha I am stumped. But unreal shoot as always! Thanks for the inspo :)
