So, you LOVE to travel. But your grandmother has to be at your wedding—and she can’t fly. Or those who can travel can’t take off work for a week in France. Let’s say you live in Philadelphia and you’ve always dreamed of a coastal Greecian wedding but the budget just won’t stretch that far…well, we have some good news. Your dream isn’t as impossible as you think!
The team behind today’s inspired wedding is about to take you all the way to Greece without leaving Philly, and we’re taking notes! For this particular day, the talented folks like Robertson’s Flowers & Events + Lauren James Events created a tropical, romantic, and colorful atmosphere at the Fairmount Horticulture Center. We were so convinced, we even had to ask them…are you sure you didn’t hop over to Greece for the day?!
Read on for some totally stunning details and tips to bring the destination wedding to you! Let’s have a look at the photos from the oh-so-talented M2 Photography!
Tip 1: Choose a Venue with Your Destination in Mind
Can you even believe there isn’t a cliffside view just in front of her?! Sure looks like Greece to us! The team chose the Fairmount Horticulture Center as the venue because of its inherent tropical feel. By bringing in other elements, the Grecian vibes were strong.
Tip 2: Think About Color + Texture
Depending on the destination you’re hoping to evoke, color can be a major role key in the design. When you think of Greece you think of blues, whites, and pops of pink florals!
For texture, this macramé by Forever Fern Weaving created a really unique moment at the ceremony alter. Loving it!
Those bright whites!
By the way…this Rue de Seine gown from Lovely Bride?! Dreeeeamy.
Tip 3: Research Local Plant Life
Robertson’s Flowers & Events really brought Greece home with florals that recall the natural blooms of its most popular cities.
All the paper goods and signage by The Papery tied it all together with a focus on that cerulean blue! And these tile cookies from Clara’s Groovy Deliciousness?! So perfect!
Tip 4: Call on Local Cuisine
What makes a place more than its food?! This oyster cart from 13th street Cocktail Catering made for a fun seaside taste of what was to come!
The team put the focus on sky + sea for the alfresco reception. Casual dining with an upgrade!
As for dream design details, Party Rentals LTD bought in the tabletop goods and Maggpie Rentals supplied the furniture.
Sea + sky perfection by Clara’s Groovy Deliciousness!
Tip 5: Create an Atmosphere
Need we say more?! Candlelit, twinkle lights, good people + good food…yes, please.
So, where in the world would you go if you didn’t have to leave your own backyard? We’re thinking Morocco or Mexico…or Greece, of course ;)
