High-Flying Modern Wedding with Black + Mauve Accents

Modern Hangar Wedding

It’s all about making an entrance! Cherisse + Can set out to plan a celebration that would keep their guests partying all night, so of course, they had to start things off right. And entrance by helicopter seemed the way to go! Here’s how it all went down from Cherisse:

Two of our favorite things are eating and going to concerts. So the goal was to make our wedding a huge party with all of our loved ones…eating, drinking and dancing all night! We had a family-style dinner, handcrafted ice cream station, assorted desserts, and finally, late-night burritos with tater tots. Our MC + DJ duo kept the party with non-stop hits! We wanted our wedding to be not only about us but also the people we love.

Fawn Events signed on to design a completely lovely + modern setting, calling on black, gold, and mauve accents. And Alexandria Monette Photography captured the whole event…so let’s fly on over to the photos!

We got the details on Cherisse’s pretty sweetheart wedding dress:

Finding my wedding dress was probably the biggest stressor. I went to about six dress shops and had what I called, “dress fatigue.” I ended up picking a dress that I wasn’t completely happy with. I had anxiety about wearing it, but thank goodness for my supportive mom and friends! Two months later, we went on a mission to find a dress I loved! The designer is Netta BenShabu and the funny thing is, a week after my wedding I was shopping in Palm Springs and ran into her! It was fate and I’m still in love with my dress!

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

The most memorable moment was our grand entrance! We came down on a helicopter! We were so afraid of being deemed "extra" that we almost ditched the whole helicopter idea, but we were so glad we didn't. Our guests were so surprised and we definitely felt the energy as we landed.
