Today’s stunning wedding is more than just a handful of pretty images. While we promise there’s plenty of that to go around too – thanks to the talented photo duo behind Henry + Mac – the sweet, homespun vibe behind the entire day is what’s currently tugging at our sentimental heartstrings. Dev is a wedding planner herself, so she definitely knew how to infuse the Cape Cod backyard setting with lots of love + personality. Let’s hear a bit more about her + Ryan’s beautiful day:
Ryan and I have always had very clear visions about what our life together should be like – full of family, friends, fun and food…it just made sense that our wedding would mirror those ideals. The Cape has always been my version of Disneyworld – a magical place full of cheer, salty air, everlasting beaches, and amazing fried seafood. Even being located across the country, we knew our big day would be back East where we belonged.
Dev’s fall bouquet, by Foret Design Studio, is one of our most favorite to date!
Dev shares, We knew that our four legged furry son was bravely battling a very aggressive cancer and so we did everything we could to incorporate him into our day and our stunning photographs that we’ll have forever. He donned his tie handsomely as our “Ring Bear” and strutted down the aisle with my bridesman. This was the best decision we made. We lost him a few short months later.
Dev: This is so hard. #1 Sealing the deal with a kiss, with Bogey by our feet, and all the love and cheers from our onlookers. #2 While everyone was inside dancing, I walked out and of the Inn and into the gorgeous sailcloth tent and took in how magnificent everything had turned out. I wanted to move into that tent. I loved everything. I was so damn happy. #3 The look of horror on the Dennis Inn staff's face when I ate some of the communal apple crisp directly out of the serving bowl with her serving spoon...WHAT?! IT'S MY DAY!!!!
Ryan: It was while dancing; I took in the room and realized that all these people that I loved, and that Dev loved were having a blast in celebration of us. That made me really happy.
The tent was decked out with the most beautiful + stylish fall feel. We love the gorgeous florals, pennant table numbers, cozy lanterns + pretty paper goods.
Our wedding was seriously all about the details. We skewed the traditional cake and had an amazing fall inspired dessert bar with apple crisp, blueberry cobbler, apple cider doughnuts, pumpkin bread pudding with caramel drizzle, red velvet whoopie pies, carrot cake cupcakes and chocolate chip oatmeal cookies. Guests could load up takeaway boxes with our stickered logo on them and shovel this into their faces or take it to go.

Keep reminding yourselves what they day is about when you start to get bogged down by minute decisions, frustrating relatives, picky parents, and whatever else seems to be in the way between now and the big day. I also very much recommend having someone (be it an amazing bridal party or hired professional) to coordinate the actual day. So much planning, thought and money goes into this ONE DAY that is over in the blink of an eye and you truly want to be PRESENT for as much of it as you can. It's very hard to do that if you are the point person.

Such a lovely couple! I love the flowers and the wedding colours. Really sorry for the doggy :(
This wedding is a dream! Absolutely gorgeous.
This is SO GOOD! You know when a wedding video makes you tear up and you don’t know the couple personally, it’s gotta be a good one. Just stunning.
Thank you Green Wedding Shoes for including our very special day on your amazing site. We’re honored!
Love the wedding! I’m curious about your Trivial Pursuit cards on the table. Did you make those with questions about yourselves? Love that idea!
Hi Alison,
I did make those and they were all personal questions for the tables to quiz one another on. They were fun icebreakers while waiting for the party to get started. Feel free to reach out to me if you want more info.
Warmly,
Dev
Love this! My friend just got engaged and I can’t wait to share these ideas with her for her big day!
Hello Dev,
Gorgeous! I love every last detail down to the napkins. I’m getting married on the Cape in 2018. Would you mind sharing your tent vendor with me?
Thanks!
Desiree,
It’s Undercover Tents but the tent is booked through The Dennis Inn. Just make sure you tell the Inn that you want a SAILCLOTH tent. If you don’t specify this, you’ll get the more traditional circus style white pole tent. No thanks!
Dev
Thank you! Also, would you mind telling me where you rented the chairs from? Planning from the west coast has been a bit challenging.
Best,
Desiree
