Jessica Haley Photography, Stacie Shea Events, Opihi Love + Mandy Grace Floral & Event Design – the team behind today’s unique wedding editorial, wanted to create a rich backstory for their shoot + design a “City meets Maui” environment. They dreamt up the idea of an NYC couple planning a destination wedding on the islands + created a setting filled with a watercolor palette and lots of pretty ideas! Let’s hear a bit more about it all from Stacie of Stacie Shea Events:
My idea for the shoot started with the fabrics from Lulie Wallace as my inspiration. Her fabrics, painting and designs are incredibly joyful, bright, and vibrant. I wanted to pair the uniqueness of the Cliff House with beautiful pinks, violets, golds, and oranges. I wanted to tie in modern touches with beautiful gold highlights. Our vision was to utilize romantic beach elements paired with the modern, acrylic touches. We wanted brides to picture the water, the breeze and the nature of this beautiful venue, and try to capture the overall essence of an event that would happen there.
The inspiration behind the invitation suite (by Social Alchemy) came from the thought of the New York skyline vs. the Maui ‘skyline’. Using the art of watercolor as a theme throughout, hand-drawing the skylines (for the save the date, and the envelope liner) and the cliff house (menus) seemed to come together.
We’re ALL about these colorful tropical cocktails! Yum :)
And that ombre watercolor cake was the perfect finishing touch!

I love the coral and pink hues in their invites with the two skylines. And, that ombre cake looks amazing, too!
Like the couple very much and all pictures are just fabulous.
Hawaiian watercolor wedding is very beautiful. The scenery is so romantic, the cards are very beautiful and luxurious.
I love your collections.
